Objective: To quantify the impact of perioperative β blocker use on survival after primary cytoreductive surgery for epithelial ovarian cancer.

Methods: We conducted a multi-center retrospective study of all women who underwent primary cytoreductive surgery for ovarian cancer (2000-2010). One institution had routinely used perioperative β blockers for patients "at risk" for coronary events.

Background: Despite the availability of first trimester abortion services in urban settings, many women request abortion in the second trimester. We identified protective and risk factors associated with women who delay requesting abortions until the second trimester.

Study Design: The study was a cross-sectional survey of 247 patients requesting surgical abortion at an urban family planning clinic.
