Longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis (LETM) is traditionally classified as an inflammatory disorder of the spinal cord spanning three or more vertebral segments. The differential diagnosis for TM is vast and can include infectious, nutritional, and can even be idiopathic in some reported cases. However, autoimmune etiologies such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) can rarely present with neurological manifestations such as LETM.
