Background: There is a need to understand the clinical decision-making and work practices within ostomy nursing care to support expanding nursing training.

Objective: To develop and evaluate a new metric-based simulation for assessing ostomy nursing care using a human factors approach.

Sample: This pilot study involved eleven stakeholders in the needs assessment, six nurse participants performing simulated ostomy care, and three independent observers assessing procedure reliability.

Purpose: This study aimed to assess the current landscape of genetics-genomics education in physician assistant (PA) student training.

Methods: A 25-question electronic survey was emailed to program directors of the 273 accredited PA programs. Questions represented PA program demographics and 4 domains: curricular characteristics and perceived adequacy; content; curricular approaches and instructional methods; and intent, barriers, and perceived needs for an optimal curriculum.

Sport participation provides a direct means to attain health-enhancing physical activity; however, sport participation declines during adolescence, and over 85% of adolescent females fail to meet the recommended 60 min of moderate-vigorous physical activity daily. Given the importance of overcoming barriers to sport and increasing equity in women's sports, the purpose of this systematic review was to identify factors associated with sport participation among adolescent girls and operationalize those factors into theoretical constructs to guide future research. Six databases were systematically searched, and 36 records were included for review.

Background: Girls with disabilities and their caregivers are challenged during pubertal transitions, particularly with menses onset. More than 50% of caregivers report concern and anxiety related to menarche, and they have sought health care providers to discuss options. Menstrual suppression planning and education from nurse practitioners (NP) is key to ensure quality of life for these girls and their caregivers.

Background And Purpose: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex metabolic disorder associated with clinical manifestations that could be psychologically distressing to adolescent girls considering the concern of body image during the developmental stage of adolescence. Poor psychological functioning is related to increased mortality, higher health care costs, and negative health outcomes. Coping has been identified as impacting health and adaptation to illness; therefore, the purpose was to examine coping and depression in adolescent girls with PCOS.
