Introduction: HIV treatment currently consists of daily oral antiretroviral therapy (ART). Cabotegravir + rilpivirine long-acting (CAB + RPV LA) is the first ART available in Spain administered every 2 months through intramuscular injection by a healthcare professional (HCP). The objective of this analysis was to assess potential healthcare resource use (HRU) and cost impact of implementing CAB + RPV LA vs.

Methods: Single case report and narrative review.
Results: A 59-year-old male patient presented with a year-long history of diminished vision and weight loss.
Objectives: To evaluate the trajectory of students enrolled in the specialty training in rheumatology.
Methods: Retrospective analysis (2009-2016). Promotion, repetition, and dropout rates were determined.
Retinal Müller glia function as injury-induced stem-like cells in zebrafish but not mammals. However, insights gleaned from zebrafish have been applied to stimulate nascent regenerative responses in the mammalian retina. For instance, microglia/macrophages regulate Müller glia stem cell activity in the chick, zebrafish, and mouse.

It has been suggested that vitamin D supplementation may be used prophylactically as an affordable and safe strategy that could be added to the existing COVID-19 standard treatment. This multicenter, single-blinded, prospective randomized pilot clinical trial aimed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and effectiveness of 10,000 IU/day in comparison with 2000 IU/day of cholecalciferol supplementation for 14 days to reduce the duration and severity of COVID-19 in 85 hospitalized individuals.

We aim to reach a consensus on the most relevant patient-reported outcome (PROs), the corresponding measures (PROMs), and measurement frequency during AOC patients' follow-up from patients' and healthcare professionals' (HCP) perspective.
Methods: The project comprised five steps: 1) a literature review, 2) a focus group with patients, 3) a nominal group with HCP, 4) two round-Delphi consultations with patients and HCP, and 5) a final meeting with HCP.
Main cause of severe illness and death in COVID-19 patients appears to be an excessive but ineffectual inflammatory immune response that may cause severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Vitamin D may favour an anti-inflammatory environment and improve cytotoxic response against some infectious diseases. A multicenter, single-blind, prospective, randomized clinical trial was approved in patients with COVID-19 pneumonia and levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) of 14.

This study estimated the direct costs of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia oral targeted therapies from 2011 to 2025, inclusive, in a scenario with fixed treatment oral targeted therapies and in a scenario without them. Method: The clinical course of adult chronic lymphocytic leukaemia patients was represented by a Markov model with four health states: watchful waiting, first-line treatment, relapse, and death.

In this work, we studied the relationship between myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) and monocytes subsets with the immunological responsiveness of TB patients. Individuals with active TB were classified as low responders (LR-TB) or high responders (HR-TB) according to their T cell responses against a cell lysate of (-Ag).

Facilitated phosphate release was induced by the airborne MVOCs in a time-dependent manner. Use of each standard chemical of the MVOCs then revealed that acetic and oxalic acids are crucial for the phenomenon.

Objective: To analyse the clinical/epidemiological data, the management and the treatments established in patients with Ocular Cicatricial Pemphigoid (OCP) in a Rheumatology Service.
Material And Methods: Review of clinical histories of patients with OCP referred by ophthalmology between 2008 and 2019.
Results: In our series of 27 patients, 67% were diagnosed and referred in the last 2 years.
The epidemiology of pulmonary hypertension (PH), especially pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), has not been evaluated in our country, therefore there is no reference parameter to establishing the representativeness of this information in the national order. This registry represents the first collaborative effort to provide a knowledge base of this disease, including 5 scientific societies that represent different specialties (pediatrics, rheumatology, pulmonology and cardiology) with data from 23 Argentine provinces. These efforts involved five societies of various adult (cardiology, rheumatology, and pulmonology) and pediatric (cardiology) specialties.

Methods: RPMI-1640, stem cell growth medium (SCGM), NK MACS and TexMACS were used as culture mediums.

A preliminary analysis of Galileo F/NAV broadcast Clock and Ephemeris is performed in this paper with 43 months of data. Using consolidated Galileo Receiver Independent Exchange (RINEX) navigation files, automated navigation data monitoring is applied from 1 January 2017 to 31 July 2020 to detect and verify potential faults in the satellite broadcast navigation data. Based on these observation results, the Galileo Signal-in-Space is assessed, and the probability of satellite failure is estimated.

In Latin America, there are no validated tools to assess the risk of serious infection. The objectives were to estimate the incidence of serious infections in a cohort of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients followed for 12 months and to validate the RABBIT risk score for serious infections.

Methods: This retrospective, observational study analysed medical record data of patients with SLE treated with belimumab in 15 centres in Argentina. Primary endpoint: overall clinical response (assessed on a scale similar to the 6-point Physician Global Assessment) at months 6, 12, 18 and 24, all versus index (belimumab initiation).
Purpose: Treatment of recurrent ovarian carcinoma is a challenge, particularly for the clear cell (CCC) subtype. However, there is a preclinical rationale that these patients could achieve a benefit from antiangiogenic therapy. To assess this hypothesis, we used the growth modulation index (GMI), which represents an intrapatient comparison of two successive progression-free survival (PFS).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTuberculin skin test (TST) and IFN-γ release assays are currently used to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) infection but none of them differentiate active from latent infection (LTBI). Since improved tests to diagnose Mtb infection are required, we studied the immune response to Mtb latency antigen Rv2626c in individuals exposed to the bacteria during different periods. Tuberculosis patients (TB), TB close contacts (CC: subjects exposed to Mtb for less than three months) and healthcare workers (HW: individuals exposed to Mtb at least two years) were recruited and QuantiFERON (QFT) assay, TST and IFN-γ secretion to Rv2626c were analyzed.

Methods: Data on the real-world usage, efficacy, and safety of TCZ were collected from patients during routine follow-up visits conducted over a 6-month period. Patients were grouped by previous exposure to biologic therapies (biologic exposed vs.
Objectives: To observe patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) treated with the interleukin-6 receptor-alpha inhibitor tocilizumab (TCZ) in routine clinical practice.
Methods: Data on concomitant medications, effectiveness and safety were pooled from independent, multinational studies in patients with RA initiating intravenous TCZ according to local label recommendations observed in routine practice for 6 months. Patients were grouped by TCZ monotherapy or combination therapy with conventional synthetic disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (csDMARDs).
Registers facilitate the collection and communication of safety concerns. There are as many different register structures as registers, making the merging of rare data and comparison between registers difficult. BIOBADASER, the Safety Register of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology has served as template for other registers within the specialty, BIOBADAMERICA, and outside rheumatology, BIOBADADERM.

Tuberculous pleurisy is a common manifestation of extrapulmonary TB (tuberculosis) and is considered a human model of Th1-mediated DTH. In order to identify functional cross-talk among cellular populations sited in this inflammatory microenvironment, we analysed phenotypic and functional features of human B-cells isolated from the PF (pleural fluid) of TB patients.
