Establishment of pregnancy after embryo transfer is the ultimate goal of an embryo transfer program and increasing pregnancy rates and reducing pregnancy loss are mandatory. The utilization of treatments to improve conception rates in recipient mares has been the focus of several research groups over the last years and the results are controversial. Some studies using human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) found promising results.

Objectives: To report the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on patient attendance at a radiotherapy department two months after the implementation of specific policies regarding the pandemic.
Methods: The proposed treatment schemes, favoring hypofractionated schedules, and COVID-19 management strategies regarding irradiation are presented. Attendance after two months of implementation of these policies was measured and compared with that during the same period in 2019.
Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients have high risk of heart failure (HF).
Aims: Identifying the risk factors and mechanistic pathways associated with HF in patients with RA.
Methods: Cohort study enrolling 355 RA patients.
Extubation failure is a common event in intensive care units. Corticosteroids are effective in preventing failure in adults, but no consensus has been reached on this matter in pediatrics. We assessed the efficacy of intravenous dexamethasone in mechanically ventilated children and adolescents for more than 48 hours, with at least one risk factor for failure.

Method: National epidemiological survey, applied in April and May 2020, by adaptation of Respondent Drive Sampling.
Results: 1,337 MSM participated in the survey, of which 514 (38.
This study evaluated the uptake and translocation of cerium nanoparticles (CeO NPs) and soluble Ce(NO) by soybean plants (Glycine max L. Merrill) under the whole plant life-cycle and relevant environmental concentrations, 0.062 and 0.

In these conditions, metabolic stress leads the cells to enhance their autophagic flux and to activate key molecules for homeostasis maintenance. Galectin-3 (Gal-3) is upregulated in pancreatic cancer and it is activated under the hypoxic atmosphere.

Methods: An assessment tool of 40 objective questions and at least one essay-based question was developed to assess residents' comprehension of general radiation oncology accordingly to validated training curricula beyond level 2 in the Bloom scale. With randomized content, questions were developed such as to be classified as at least 2 in the Bloom scale, so that reasoning and not only information gathering could be assessed.
Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are at higher risk for having underdiagnosed heart failure, however there are no recommendations regarding echocardiographic screening. We aimed to determine the prevalence of subclinical ventricular dysfunction in RA applying current echocardiographic guidelines, its association with patients' characteristics, biomarkers and prognostic parameters and compare the 2016 guidelines to the recommendations from 2009. Prospective study of RA patients without known heart disease, categorized as preserved ventricular function (PVF), systolic dysfunction (SD), isolated diastolic dysfunction (DD) or indeterminate diastolic function (IDF) as per the 2016 echocardiography guidelines-or any ventricular dysfunction (AVD) comprehending the last 3.

Today, immunotherapy is the most efficient treatment, with fewer side effects. Notably, the employment of monoclonal antibodies to inhibit checkpoint proteins, such as CTLA-4, has caused much excitement among cancer immunotherapy researchers.

Method: An evaluative, analytical study. Information from the central distribution of essential medicines and the receipts of antimicrobial prescriptions were used.
This study investigates and self-employment is related to higher levels of eudaimonic well-being. We focus on meaningfulness as an important eudaimonic process and subjective vitality as a eudaimonic well-being outcome that is central to entrepreneurs' proactivity. Building on self-determination theory, we posit that self-employment, relative to wage-employment, is a more self-determined and volitional career choice, which enhances the experience of meaningfulness at work and perceptions of work autonomy.

Mucosal immunity defines the relationship of surfaces in contact with the environment and integrates diverse tissues such as epidermis, gum, nose, gut, uterus and prostate with the immune system. Although considered part of a system, each mucosa presents specific immune features beyond the barrier and secretory functions. Information regarding the mucosal immunology of the male reproductive tract and the prostate gland in particular is scarce.

Methods: A total of 402 adults awaiting dental care at a public healthcare service answered an eight-item questionnaire addressing xerostomia and were submitted to stimulated sialometry, with ≤ 0.7 mL/min considered indicative of hyposalivation.
Hemodialysis (HD) patients experience hemodynamic instability and intradialytic exercise seems to attenuate it. This study aimed to verify the acute hemodynamic response to different intradialytic handgrip exercise intensities in HD patients. In a randomized, cross-over, experimental pilot study, eight patients completed two experimental sessions and one control in random order: (a) regular HD; (b) low-intensity isometric handgrip exercise; and (c) moderate-intensity isometric handgrip exercise.

The detection of telocytes is still very much dependent on obtaining ultrastructural data that show the presence of telopodes, which are cytoplasmic projections that alternate between dilated regions, the podoms, and thin segments, the podomers. These structures are the distinctive characteristics of the telocytes.

Salinity promoted significant reductions in leaf area, root and shoot dry mass of sorghum plants, regardless of nitrogen source; however, higher growth was observed in ammonium-grown plants.

Methods allowing to study the potential nonlinear pattern of genotype responses to environmental variation allied to prior beliefs on unknown parameters are interesting to evaluate the phenotypic adaptability and stability of genotypes. In this context, the present study aimed to assess the adaptability and stability of maize hybrids, by using the Bayesian segmented regression model, and evaluate the efficacy of using informative and minimally informative prior distributions for the selection of cultivars.

Notably, these approaches often incorporate adaptation metrics such as emotions and performance. Nonetheless, compensatory movements, which hinder movement correctness and are considered as a core quality evaluation criterion of rehabilitation, have not been considered as an adaptation metric.

This demands the cultivation of plants in shrinking land areas which makes the search for highly effective systems for plant nutrition and pest control important. In this context, the application of nanoparticles (NPs) in agriculture can have a transformative effect on food production techniques as it can enable the delivery of bioactive agents (including growth factors, pesticides, and fungicides) directly to plants.

Here, interdigitated electrodes were functionalized with layer-by-layer (LbL) films of hyaluronan (HA) and chitosan (CHI) to detect prostatic tumor cells (PC3 line). The deposition of LbL films was confirmed with atomic force microscopy and polarization-modulated infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (PM-IRRAS), which featured the vibrational modes of the HA top layer capable of interacting specifically with glycoprotein CD44 receptors overexpressed in tumor cells.

To evaluate the hypothesis that light could reduce the lethality of COVID-19. Most models for projections of the spread and lethality of COVID-19 take into account the ambient temperature, neglecting light. Recent advances in understanding the mechanism of action of COVID-19 have shown that it causes a systemic infection that significantly affects the hematopoietic system and hemostasis, factors extremely dependent of light, mainly in the region of visible and infrared radiation.
