A 54-year-old man presented with a solitary, erythematous, rapidly growing 1-cm nodule on his scalp that had arisen over the previous 3 months. He had no history of skin cancer. An excisional biopsy of the lesion showed a fairly well-circumscribed but focally invasive tumor consisting of areas of typical-appearing clear cell hidradenoma as well as areas with mucinous goblet-type cells and cells with eosinophilic cytoplasm and decapitation-type secretion.

Erythema elevatum diutinum: clinical, histopathologic, and immunohistochemical characteristics of six patients.

Erythema elevatum diutinum (EED) is a chronic cutaneous vasculitis occurring in association with a variety of conditions including autoimmunity, infectious disease, and hematological abnormalities. The role of associated medical problems is controversial, and the exact pathogenesis of EED is unknown. A series of six cases is reported.

Response of fractured osteoporotic bone to polymethylacrylate after vertebroplasty: case report.

Background Context: Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) is the most commonly used bone cement for vertebroplasties to treat osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (VCFs). Several studies have described the reaction of normal bone to PMMA, but it is still unclear how fractured osteoporotic bone responds to PMMA.

Purpose: To describe the response of fractured osteoporotic bone to PMMA after vertebroplasty.

Coexisting facial nerve schwannoma and monomorphic adenoma of the parotid gland.

We describe the case of a patient with a parotid mass that was found to consist of both a facial nerve schwannoma and a monomorphic adenoma. To our knowledge, this is the first report of these two lesions presenting as a single tumor. We also discuss the incidence, diagnosis, and treatment of parotid facial nerve schwannomas.
