Background: Maternal obesity is associated with significant racial disparities. People who identify as non-Hispanic Black and Latinx are at the highest risk related adverse short- and long-term health outcomes (eg, hypertension in pregnancy and postpartum weight retention). Remote lifestyle interventions delivered during and after pregnancy hold promise for supporting healthy weight outcomes; however, few are tested in groups of people who self-identify as non-Hispanic Black and Latinx or address the neighborhood-level and psychosocial factors driving maternal health disparities.

Patients And Methods: We conducted a phase I study of romidepsin, gemcitabine, oxaliplatin and dexamethasone (Romi-GemOxD) in R/R aggressive lymphomas with an expansion cohort in T-cell lymphomas.
Background And Objectives: Individuals with low income or from minoritized racial or ethnic groups experience a high burden of hypertension and other chronic conditions (eg, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and mental health conditions) and often lack access to specialist care when compared to their more socially advantaged counterparts. We used a mixed-methods approach to describe the deployment of a Remote Collaborative Specialist Panel intervention aimed at the comprehensive and coordinated management of patients with hypertension and comorbid conditions to address health disparities.
Methods: Participants of the collaborative care/stepped care arm of the Reducing Inequities in Care of Hypertension: Lifestyle Improvement for Everyone (RICH LIFE) Project, a cluster-randomized trial comparing the effectiveness of enhanced standard of care to a multilevel intervention (collaborative care/stepped care) for improving blood pressure control and reducing disparities, were included.

Helicobacter pylori is the primary cause of gastric cancer, and there is a need to discover new molecular targets for therapeutic intervention in H. pylori disease progression. We have previously shown that spermine oxidase (SMOX), the enzyme that catabolizes the back-conversion of the polyamine spermine to spermidine, is upregulated during infection and is associated with increased cancer risk in humans.

We aimed to assess the association of GLP-1 receptor agonist use in the progression of MGUS to multiple myeloma in patients with diabetes.
Methods: This is a population-based cohort study of veterans diagnosed with MGUS from 2006 to 2021 with a prior diagnosis of diabetes.
Introduction: In May 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention disseminated an alert advising that "a few" persons with Nirmatrelvir/ritonavir (NM/R)-associated rebound of COVID-19 infection had been identified. Three case reports appearing as pre-print postings described the first cases. Analyses in March 2023 by NM/R's manufacturer and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reported no association between NM/R and COVID-19 rebound in a large phase 3 randomized clinical trial.

Methods: RICH LIFE (Reducing Inequities in Care of Hypertension: Lifestyle Improvement for Everyone) was a 2-arm, cluster randomized trial comparing the effect on blood pressure (BP) control (systolic BP ≤140 mm Hg, diastolic BP ≤90 mm Hg), patient activation, and disparities in BP control of 2 multilevel interventions, standard of care plus (SCP) and collaborative care/stepped care (CC/SC). SCP included BP measurement standardization, audit and feedback, and equity-leadership training.
Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated mental health concerns and stress among American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/ANs) in the United States, as well as among frontline workers responding to the pandemic. Psychological First Aid (PFA) is a promising intervention to support mental wellbeing and coping skills during and after traumatic events, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Since PFA is often implemented rapidly in the wake of a disaster or traumatic event, evidence evaluating its impact is lacking.

Objective: To examine the associations of a person's age, race/ethnicity, education, residence, health literacy, medical mistrust level, and sources of health-related information with their COVID-19 health and conspiracy myth beliefs.
Design: We surveyed adults with hypertension in Maryland and Pennsylvania between August 2020 and March 2021.
Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) is a potentially life-threatening complication of COVID-19. The pathophysiological mechanisms leading to severe disease are poorly understood. This study leveraged clinical samples from a well-characterized cohort of children hospitalized with COVID-19 or MIS-C to compare immune-mediated biomarkers.

This retrospective analysis used the IRIS Registry and included DR patients older than 18 years with documented antivascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) treatment and VA data for at least 2 years. International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification codes were used to determine the severity of DR and DME presence.

The aim of this study was to collect experiences related to discrimination among US radiology residents, including type and source, as well as the residents' perception on lectures about discrimination and harassment. We also explored the barriers to reporting, and suggested strategies to overcome them.

Based on the guidance in the statute, CMS has selected specific data items to use to adjust initial price offers for 10 drugs in the decision-making process. Although much of the data are publicly available, some of these data items will need to be collected directly from drug companies.

Methods: We used Maryland statewide hospital claims data (outpatient and inpatient visits) for this retrospective cohort study. Female adolescents and young adults aged 15-24 years who had at least one STI from July 1, 2013, to March 31, 2015, were included.
Background: Abiraterone and enzalutamide are second generation androgen receptor pathway inhibitors (ARPIs) used to treat advanced or metastatic prostate cancer. Without head-to-head comparative studies identifying 1 agent as preferred initial therapy, physician preferences guide initial ARPI choice. This study compares hospitalizations among patients treated initially with abiraterone versus enzalutamide.

We interviewed leaders of six participating primary care systems and surveyed providers and staff. FQHC respondents reported more positive cultural competence attitudes and behavior, higher motivation to implement the project, and less concern about barriers to caring for disadvantaged patients than those in the non-FQHC practices; however, egalitarian beliefs were similar among all.
