Background: Brain tumors are the deadliest solid tumors in children and adolescents. Most of these tumors are glial in origin and exhibit strong heterogeneity, hampering the development of effective therapeutic strategies. Background And Aim: Childhood obesity is associated with vitamin D (VD) deficiency and vascular dysfunction. Considering evidence indicates that VD may improve vascular function, this study, for the first time, assessed the effect of VD supplementation on microvascular reactivity in obese adolescents (OA).
Methods And Results: This randomized controlled trial included 26 OA, receiving fruit juice with (n = 13) or without VD (4000 IU/d; n = 13) over a 3-month lifestyle program, as well as 23 normal-weight adolescents (controls).

Recent advances in neuroscience give us a better view of the inner structure of the amygdala, of its relations with other regions in the Medial Temporal Lobe (MTL) and of the prominent role of neuromodulation. They have particularly shed light on two kinds of neurons in the basal nucleus of the amygdala, the so-called fear neurons and extinction neurons. Fear neurons mediate context-dependent fear by receiving contextual information from the hippocampus, whereas extinction neurons are linked with the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and involved in fear extinction.

Methods: Surgeons involved in early stage breast cancer and their patients treated in a French cancer care network received a cross-sectional survey questionnaire containing examples of four different approaches to TDM: paternalistic, "some sharing", informed TDM and, shared TDM.
Results: Surgeons' interaction styles were clearly distributed among paternalistic, shared and mixed.
A comparative, nonrandomized, multicenter, and prospective analysis were performed between April 2004 and June 2008 in 20 French centers in order to compare clinical aspects of respiratory-gated conformal radiotherapy (RGRT) during breast cancer irradiation versus conventional conformal radiotherapy. The final results based on 233 evaluable patients at 48 months confirm the feasibility and good reproducibility of the RGRT systems. The main results demonstrated a marked reduction of dosimetric parameters predictive of lungs and cardiac toxicities in the RGRT group; especially the dose delivered to the heart during irradiation of the left breast; mostly observed with deep inspiration breath-hold techniques.
