Immune response to BNT162b2 SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in patients living with HIV: The COVIH-DAPT study.

Introduction: Data on immune response to SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in patients living with HIV (PLWH) over a period longer than 3 months are currently limited. We measured the immune response after BNT162b2 vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 in this population.

Methods: We prospectively enrolled PLWH on successful antiretroviral therapy, initiating vaccination with two doses of the BNT162b2 SARS-CoV-2 vaccine administered at six-week interval.

Primary membranous nephropathy (pMN) is an auto-immune disease characterized by auto-antibodies targeting podocyte antigens resulting in activation of complement and damage to the glomerular basement membrane. pMN is the most common cause of nephrotic syndrome in adults without diabetes. Despite a very heterogeneous course of the disease, the treatment of pMN has for many years been based on uniform management of all patients regardless of the severity of the disease.

Humoral and Cellular Response of Frontline Health Care Workers Infected by SARS-CoV-2 in Nice, France: A Prospective Single-Center Cohort Study.

Frontline health care workers (HCWs) have been particularly exposed to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) since the start of the pandemic but the clinical features and immune responses of those infected with SARS-CoV-2 have not been well described. In a prospective single center cohort study, we enrolled 196 frontline HCWs exposed to the SARS-Cov-2 and 60 patients with moderate and severe forms of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Serological tests and cytokines assay were performed to analyze SARS-CoV-2-specific humoral and cellular immunity.

Functional Exhaustion of Type I and II Interferons Production in Severe COVID-19 Patients.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has emerged in Wuhan in December 2019 and has since spread across the world. Even though the majority of patients remain completely asymptomatic, some develop severe systemic complications. In this prospective study we compared the immunological profile of 101 COVID-19 patients with either mild, moderate or severe form of the disease according to the WHO classification, as well as of 50 healthy subjects, in order to identify functional immune factors independently associated with severe forms of COVID-19.

Th17-Immune Response in Patients With Membranous Nephropathy Is Associated With Thrombosis and Relapses.

Membranous nephropathy (MN) is a rare autoimmune kidney disease. Most autoimmune diseases are associated with a pro-inflammatory Th17-immune response, but little is known about immune dysregulation in MN. In China, MN was associated with exposure to fine air particulate matter (PM) that could act as a danger signal and redirect immune response toward the Th2 or Th17 pathway.

First family case of haemoglobinopathy Titusville in France and literature overview.

Normal haemoglobin is a tetramer molecule, consisting of two α and β haemoglobin chains. Haemoglobinopathies occur when abnormalities in these proteins are present. More than 1000 naturally occurring human haemoglobin variants with single amino acid substitution throughout the molecule have been identified and can be discovered through their clinical and biological manifestations.

Inadequate labeling of pork sausages prepared in Corsica causing a trichinellosis outbreak in France.

Three cases of human trichinellosis due to Trichinella britovi were reported in 2015 in the Southeast of France resulting from consumption of raw pork sausages (figatelli) prepared in Corsica. Fourteen other people ate figatelli from the same batch but were not infected due to the figatelli being well cooked. This is the first reported human trichinellosis outbreak due to consumption of Corsican sausages prepared from uncontrolled pork.
