Many students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have negative social experiences with classmates and teachers. The Making Socially Accepting Inclusive Classrooms (MOSAIC) intervention asked teachers to give positive attention strategies to students at risk for ADHD, at a 3:1 ratio compared to their peers. Evidence suggested that although MOSAIC students at risk for ADHD reported improved relationships with teachers, they were more disliked by their classroom peers, relative to counterparts in a typical practice control group.

This study examined how parental supply is associated with attitudes toward adolescent alcohol use, perceived norms of parental supply, perceived behavioural control and perceived acceptable age to drink alcohol. A total of 1197 Australian parents with children aged 12-17 years completed an online cross-sectional survey assessing their parental supply behaviours, attitudes and perceptions in April 2022.

However, an unintended consequence is that they may also increase switching to non-sugar-sweetened beverages (NSSBs). A non-hypothetical experimental study examined the effectiveness of combining sugar and sweetener FOP warning labels to reduce sugary drink consumption and prevent NSSB substitution.

Methods: One hundred anonymized panoramic radiographs were selected for this study. Accurate labeling of dental restorations was performed by calibrated dental faculty and students, with subsequent final review by an oral radiologist.
Introduction: Scapholunate instability is one of the most frequent types of wrist instability, but optimal management is not established. This research aims to identify current conservative management strategies for stage-one scapholunate instability and how these interventions are evaluated in the UK.
Methods: A cross-sectional online survey of UK physiotherapists and occupational therapists with self-reported experience in the rehabilitation of stage-one scapholunate instability (ReSOS), was developed using the CROSS guideline and a clinical vignette.
Introduction: Tobacco endgame strategy includes policies to end the tobacco epidemic. As tobacco smoking prevalence is higher among people with mental health conditions (MHC), understanding the impact of rigorous tobacco control strategies for this group is critical. This study examined support for five tobacco control strategies among people with MHCs: increasing tobacco product tax, reducing tobacco retail locations, ending tobacco sales in alcohol-licensed venues, limiting retailers to one tobacco point of sale and reduced nicotine in smoked tobacco.

While there have been many studies on adolescent SSB consumption, few studies have examined the predictors of SSB consumption in primary-school-aged children. The aim of this study was to understand the degree to which a child's consumption across a range of beverages is influenced by their own attitudes and by their parents' attitudes and parents' consumption behaviours.

The objectives were to examine associations between facility characteristics and the odds of receiving a 4- or 5-star rating, and changes in ratings between the earliest reporting period (October-December 2022) to the most recent (April-June 2023).
Design: Cross-sectional, ecological study, with an additional longitudinal component.
Disease surveillance data was critical in supporting public health decisions throughout the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. At the same time, the unprecedented circumstances of the pandemic revealed many shortcomings of surveillance systems for viral respiratory pathogens. Strengthening of surveillance systems was identified as a priority for the recently established Australian Centre for Disease Control, which represents a critical opportunity to review pre-pandemic and pandemic surveillance practices, and to decide on future priorities, during both pandemic and inter-pandemic periods.

Two general paradigms have been proposed to explain this variation: (i) trade-offs between performance efficiency and breadth and (ii) the joint influence of extrinsic (environmental) and intrinsic (genomic) factors. We assembled genomic, metabolic, and ecological data from nearly all known species of the ancient fungal subphylum Saccharomycotina (1154 yeast strains from 1051 species), grown in 24 different environmental conditions, to examine niche breadth evolution.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Children (MBCT-C) has similar effects to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) when used as a small-group, targeted preventive program. Knowledge gaps include the longer-term effectiveness of MBCT-C relative to CBT and the benefits of adding a parent module.

How parents view provision of zero-alcohol beverages to adolescents is likely a key determinant of adolescent consumption.

This study examined (i) the historical mortality trends (2008-09 to 2021-22) and (ii) the excess mortality (2019-20 to 2021-22) of Australian RACF residents.
Methods: A retrospective population-based study was conducted using the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare's GEN website data (publicly available aged care services information).
Background: There is considerable focus on developing strategies for identifying subclinical cardiac decline prior to cardiac failure. Myocardial tissue elasticity changes may precede irreversible cardiac damage, providing promise for an early biomarker for cardiac decline. Biomarker strategies are of particular interest in cardio-oncology due to cardiotoxic effects of anti-neoplastic therapies, particularly anthracycline-based chemotherapeutics.

Objective: Reducing tobacco licences is one potential lever to reduce tobacco-related harms. A 15-fold increase in annual tobacco retailer licence fees in 2007 led to a 24% decline in the number of licences in 2009. This study investigates the changes in tobacco licences over a subsequent decade in the absence of real fee increases.

Aim: To reduce the occurrence and severity of PNIs for patients with Covid pneumonitis requiring prone positioning whilst sedated and ventilated in ICU.

Peripheral motor nerve transfer surgery is a technique that may be used to restore motor function to paralyzed muscles. Motor nerve transfer involves harvesting an expendable motor nerve branch, and transfer to the motor branch of the denervated target muscle, using microsurgical coaptation. To date, a standardized rehabilitation protocol does not exist.

Paradigms proposed to explain this variation either invoke trade-offs between performance efficiency and breadth or underlying intrinsic or extrinsic factors. We assembled genomic (1,154 yeast strains from 1,049 species), metabolic (quantitative measures of growth of 843 species in 24 conditions), and ecological (environmental ontology of 1,088 species) data from nearly all known species of the ancient fungal subphylum Saccharomycotina to examine niche breadth evolution.
