Macular Cystoid Edema Induced by Nab-Paclitaxel.

A 61-year old male was referred to the Ophthalmology department because of decreased bilateral visual acuity. The patient had metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma and was being treated with gemcitabine+nab-paclitaxel. On examination, the patient presented best corrected visual acuities of 4/20 and 2/20 in the right and left eye, respectively.

Astigmatism management in cataract surgery with Precizon(®) toric intraocular lens: a prospective study.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the visual and refractive outcomes and rotational stability of the new aspheric Precizon(®) toric intraocular lens (IOL) for the correction of corneal astigmatism in cataract surgery.

Purtscher-like retinopathy.

Purtscher-like retinopathy is associated with retinal hemorrhages and ischaemia probably due to the complement-mediated leukoembolization. It is a rare and severe angiopathy found in conditions such as acute pancreatitis. Case.

Dexamethasone effect on postoperative pain and tramadol requirement after thyroidectomy.

Tramadol is a central-acting analgesic associated with nausea and vomiting. Clinical studies have demonstrated that glucocorticoids have analgesic and antiemetic effects when administered perioperatively. The aim of this study is to test the hypothesis that coadministration of tramadol and dexamethasone decreases both postoperative pain and tramadol requirement by patient-controlled analgesia (PCA).
