[Healthcare experiences of primary care workers with Bengalese immigrants in Paraná State, Brazil].

The aim of this study was to analyze the experiences of primary care workers with Bengalese immigrants in Paraná State, Brazil. This was a qualitative study in a primary care unit with approximately 700 Bengalese immigrants living in its coverage area. The study was conducted in a medium-sized city in northern Paraná State.

Management problems and strategies: The vulnerability of small-sized municipalities.

The decentralization process has a strong impact on the finances of small-sized municipalities (SSMs), which are the most vulnerable entity of the Federative Republic of Brazil. This paper aims to analyze the main problems and management strategies used by SSMs to address the inequalities resulting from the decentralization process. This qualitative research is developed through operative groups with 55 workers from the management teams of SSMs in the northern macroregion of Paraná.

Health governance and the public-private relationship in small municipalities.

Within the institutional healthcare system, the public and private sectors come into relationship mainly in the context of the execution of medium-complexity health services, especially in small municipalities (SMs). The aim of this study is to analyse the relationship between public managers and private providers in the regional governance process with regard to the factors involved in the contracting process and management and planning mechanisms of medium-complexity actions. This is a qualitative case study conducted in a health region of the state of Paraná via interviews with public and private managers performed from December 2016 to February 2017.

Participation of small municipalities in the Mais Médicos para o Brasil (More Doctors to Brazil) Program in the macro-region of Northern Paraná.

Doctor shortage is a constant problem in smaller cities and towns, which tend to be more vulnerable from a social and economic point of view, and located in geographically isolated areas. The goal of this study was to establish the share and characteristics of the small cities and towns in the macro-region of northern Paraná that subscribed to the Mais Médicos para o Brasil (PMMB) program. This is a quantitative study of 82 cities and towns using primary and secondary data.

[Legislation on primary care in Brazilian Unified National Health System: document analysis].

A reflection on Brazil's legislation for primary care helps understand the way health policy is implemented in the country. This study focuses on the legal provisions aimed at strengthening primary care, drawing on an analysis of documents from the Ministry of Health's priority actions, programs, and strategies. A total of 224 provisions were identified, in two groups of documents, so-called instituting provisions and complementary provisions.
