Cationic starch microparticles (CStMPs) loaded with 4-amino-3 -(phenylselenyl)benzenesulfonamide (4-APSB) were prepared and investigated in a model of fibromyalgia (FM) induced by intermittent cold stress (ICS) in male and female Swiss mice. The CStMPs/4-APSB were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy, zeta potential, and particle size measurements, providing information about their chemical composition, surface charge, morphology/microstructure, and size (1.50 ± 0.

Both treatments were analyzed for parameters such as pH, syneresis, cream stability index, rheology, bioactive compounds (total phenolics and antioxidant capacity), and probiotic viability (Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-05) over a 28-day storage period. Ohmic heating at higher electric fields (20 and 24 V/cm) showed comparable results to pasteurization for most parameters, with non-significant differences or even higher values for some.

The effects of stress on memory in animal models are well-documented. Firstly, this study aimed to determine whether the repeated forced swim stress (FSS) protocol induces memory impairment comparable to single prolonged stress (SPS) in the Y-maze test.

Scope And Approach: This work aims to carry out a bibliographic survey on the technological applications of select edible Amazonian fruits and their residues in the elaboration and quality of dairy products.
The 7-chloro-4-(phenylselanyl) quinoline (4-PSQ) shows promise for its antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory properties. Here, we explored the structure-activity relationship of 4-PSQ and its analogues: 7-chloro-4-[(4-fluorophenyl) selanyl]quinoline (a), 7-chloro-4-{[3-trifluoromethyl)phenyl] selanyl} quinoline (b), 4-((3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl) selanyl-7-chloroquinoline (c), 7-chloro-4-[(2,4,6-trimethyl)selanyl]quinolinic acid (d) and 7-chloroquinoline-4-selenium acid (e) in models of acute inflammation and chemical, thermal and mechanical nociception in mice, alongside in silico analysis. Compounds a (-F), b (-CF), c (-Bis-CF), d (-CH), e (-OOH), and 4-PSQ exhibited antinociceptive effects in chemical and thermal nociception models, except d (-CH) and e (-OOH) in the hot plate test.

Research Question: How to create a reproducible score using combined parameters of Computed Tomography (CT) to predict nonobvious PLC injury. How CT parameters relate with PLC status.
Sleep is a fundamental state for maintaining the organism homeostasis. Disruptions in sleep patterns predispose to the appearance of memory impairments and mental disorders, including depression. Recent pre-clinical studies have highlighted the antidepressant-like properties of the synthetic compound 2-phenyl-3-(phenylselanyl)benzofuran (SeBZF1).

Methods: Retrospective cohort study of patients newly diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer in 2017 and followed-up for up to 5 years. A bottom-up microcosting method was applied, using the activity-based cost approach, which evaluates service costs based on activity consumption throughout patients' journey.

Cholesterol is a pivotal lipotoxic molecule that contributes to the progression of Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis NASH). Additionally, microcirculatory changes are critical components of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) pathogenesis. This study aimed to investigate the role of cholesterol as an insult that modulates microcirculatory damage in NAFLD and the underlying mechanisms.

The efficacy of 5-((4-methoxyphenyl)thio)benzo[c][1,2,5] thiodiazole (MTDZ) in mitigating paclitaxel (PTX)-induced peripheral neuropathy was investigated in male and female Swiss mice. The study examined the effects of MTDZ on various pathways, including transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 1 (TRPV1), glutamatergic, nitrergic, guanylate cyclase (cGMP), serotonergic, and opioidergic. Mice received intraperitoneal PTX (2 mg/kg) or vehicle on days 1, 2, and 3, followed by oral MTDZ (1 mg/kg) or vehicle from days 3 to 14.

The aim of this study was to investigate the risk factors age, gender, and 11 comorbidities for mortality attributed to COVID-19 among Brazilians. An observational, retrospective cohort study with 1,804,151 individuals was performed using the São Paulo State Statistics Portal database for COVID-19 monitoring. Multivariate binary logistic regression was conducted to estimate the influence of odds ratio (OR) for asthma, diabetes, obesity, Down's syndrome, puerperal, hematological, hepatic, neurological, pulmonary, immunological, kidney, and other diseases contributing to mortality attributed to COVID-19.

In this study, we showed that hepatocyte nuclear factor 4α (HNF4α), a transcription factor mostly expressed in the liver, is also expressed in bone, and that osseous HNF4α expression was dramatically reduced in patients and mice with ROD. Osteoblast-specific deletion of Hnf4α resulted in impaired osteogenesis in cells and mice.

Objectives: Selective caries removal aims to remove carious tissue in deep dentin lesions. However, a discussion stands on the value of antiseptics and chemomechanical adjuvant methods to reduce the bacterial load on residual caries lesions. This systematic review has addressed two main clinical questions to compare the antimicrobial efficacy of available methods using (1) antiseptic or (2) chemomechanical agents before restoring dentin carious lesions.

Methods: The clinical question was "What are the clinical characteristics of oral rhabdomyosarcoma in children aged zero to two years?" Two independent reviewers selected the studies, extracted data, and assessed the methodological quality through the Joanna Briggs Institute Checklist. Descriptive statistics were performed in SPSS.
The aim of the present study was to investigate the frequency of missing data on routine dental care appointments and restorative procedures from the clinical records of children treated at a pediatric dental clinic. A descriptive retrospective study was conducted involving the clinical records of children three to 12 years of age treated only with restorations. The inclusion criteria were clinical records from the past 10 years of children with at least one restored tooth.
