Spanish translation and cultural adaptation of the 5-D itch scale in burn patients.

The objective of this study was to make an equivalent and culturally adapted translation of an already existing scale for itching, the 5-D itch scale (5-D IS), developed as a short questionnaire and designed to measure pruritus, in order to be applied in a Spanish-speaking population. The 5-D IS consists of five sections that evaluate duration, degree, direction, disability and distribution of itching. The adequate translation process was performed according to the guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR).

State Intimate Partner Violence-Related Firearm Laws and Intimate Partner Homicide Rates in the United States, 1991 to 2015.

Background: To prevent intimate partner homicide (IPH), some states have adopted laws restricting firearm possession by intimate partner violence (IPV) offenders. "Possession" laws prohibit the possession of firearms by these offenders. "Relinquishment" laws prohibit firearm possession and also explicitly require offenders to surrender their firearms.

[Training psychiatrists: considerations about the beginning, the transit through basic formation, the strong and the weak points of the formation system].

In the present article we will show the results of the workshop known as The First Training Psychiatrists Latin-American Meeting (2012). We will explore as well, the impact of the psychiatric practice on young physicians who look to the specialty. In this article we intend to update existing bibliography on the subject, and share the results of two research studies done by this team: a questionnaire conducted to first year medical residents working in Metropolitan Buenos Aires (2008/9) and a workshop carried out with the participants of the Latin- American meeting mentioned above.
