Material And Methods: We performed a retrospective and observational study of patients with a confirmed diagnosis of lumbar or lumbosacral low-grade spondylolisthesis at a single level. Preoperative X-ray and MRI examinations were evaluated.
Introduction: Precision medicine has revolutionized oncology, providing more personalized diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring for patients with cancer. In the context of female-specific tumors, such as breast, ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancer, proper tissue collection and handling are essential for obtaining tissue, immunohistochemical (IHC), and molecular data to guide therapeutic decisions.
Objectives: To establish guidelines for the collection and handling of tumor tissue, to enhance the quality of samples for histopathological, IHC, genomic, and molecular analyses.

Antimicrobial resistance and biofilm formation by microbial pathogens pose a significant challenge to poultry production systems due to the persistent risk of dissemination and compromise of bird health and productivity. In this context, the study aimed to investigate the occurrence of different multiresistance phenotypes and the biofilm-forming ability of Enterobacteriaceae isolated from broiler chicken excreta in poultry production units in Ceará, Brazil. Samples were collected from three distinct broiler breeding facilities and subjected to isolation, identification, antibiotic susceptibility testing, phenotypic screening for β-lactamases enzymes, and biofilm formation evaluation.

Identifying these mutations may reduce cancer risk, facilitate early detection, and enable personalized treatment. However, genetic testing is limited in the Brazilian Public Health System, and data regarding germline mutations in many regions are scarce.

Methods: The WHOeyes was an upgraded version with a distinct feature of ADC of an existing validated VA testing app called V@home. Three groups of Chinese participants with different ages (≤20, 20-40, >40 years) were recruited for distance and near VA testing using both an Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) chart and the WHOeyes.
The increasing prevalence of antimicrobial resistance among bacterial pathogens necessitates novel treatment strategies, particularly in veterinary medicine where otitis in dogs is very common in small animals' clinical routines. Considering this challenge, this study explores the efficacy of aromatic plant compounds (APC), including eugenol (EUG), trans-cinnamaldehyde (TC), and geraniol (GER), and their synergistic potential when combined with the antiseptic agent chlorhexidine (CLX), offering insight into alternative therapeutic approaches. The disk diffusion assay revealed differential sensitivity of Staphylococcus spp.

The present study explores the natural-based compound trans-cinnamaldehyde (TC) against drug-resistant Enterobacteriaceae and its synergism with gentamicin (GEN) to address this issue. The research employs three strains of Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Enterobacter cloacae, previously isolated from shrimp.

Background: The approach of the HT is that of minimally invasive treatment of the dental element and is used exclusively on primary molars. Various studies in the literature point to HT as a restorative option well accepted by children and parents and quite predictable, with low retreatment rates and good cost-effectiveness for the management of primary molars with carious lesions.
Objectives: To evaluate the stability of periodontal tissues 3 (T), 6 (T), and 12 (T) months after esthetic crown lengthening (ACL) and the possible correlations between changes in those structures.
Materials And Methods: Twenty individuals were evaluated through clinical assessment, photography, and tomography. Measurements included gingival margin (GM), clinical crown length (CCL), interdental papilla height (PH) and width (PW), gingival thickness (GT), bone thickness (BT), probing depth (PD), distance between alveolar crest and GM, distance between alveolar crest and cementoenamel junction.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the effect of titanium dioxide (TiO) and silver (Ag) nanoparticles dispersed in glycerol or water, serving as optical clearing agents nanocolloids (OCAs-NC), for improving optical coherence tomography (OCT) images and highlighting incipient lesions in ex vivo human teeth.
Materials And Methods: Twelve human teeth with incipient lesions were divided into seven groups according to the OCA-NC; they were subjected to G1 (air), G2 (glycerol), G3 (TiO 0.1%), G4 (TiO 0.
Background: Duration of neuropsychological disorders caused by long COVID, and the variables that impact outcomes, are still largely unknown.
Objective: To describe the cognitive profile of patients with long COVID post-participation in a neuropsychological rehabilitation program and subsequent reassessment and identify the factors that influence recovery.
Methods: 208 patients (mean age of 48.
Background: The worst outcomes linked to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection have been attributed to the cytokine storm, which contributes significantly to the immunopathogenesis of the disease. The mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway is essential for orchestrating innate immune cell defense including cytokine production and is dysregulated in severe Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) individuals. The individual genetic background might play a role in the exacerbated immune response.

Understanding CSI and ICP correlation might modify irrigation pump usage. This study aimed to evaluate invasive ICP during interlaminar FESS; correlate ICP with irrigation pump parameters (IPPs); evaluate ICP during saline outflow occlusion, commonly used to control bleeding and improve the surgeon's view; and, after durotomy, simulate accidental dural tear.

This study aimed to generate evidence about the availability and accessibility of refractive services in Portugal and to present a plan for more efficient services.
Methods: A situation analysis of the Portuguese existing refractive services within the NHS was conducted based on three health systems building blocks: service delivery access, service coverage, and workforce.
METTL3 is the major writer of N6-Methyladenosine (mA) and has been associated with controversial roles in cancer. This is best illustrated in urothelial carcinoma of the bladder (UCB), where METTL3 was described to have both oncogenic and tumor-suppressive functions. Here, we reinvestigated the role of METTL3 in UCB.

Background: Antimicrobial resistance is an emerging global health challenge that has led researchers to study alternatives to conventional antibiotics. A promising alternative is antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), produced as the first line of defense by almost all living organisms. To improve its biological activity, the conjugation of AMPs is a promising approach.
