Rapid growth in bio-logging-the use of animal-borne electronic tags to document the movements, behaviour, physiology and environments of wildlife-offers opportunities to mitigate biodiversity threats and expand digital natural history archives. Here we present a vision to achieve such benefits by accounting for the heterogeneity inherent to bio-logging data and the concerns of those who collect and use them. First, we can enable data integration through standard vocabularies, transfer protocols and aggregation protocols, and drive their wide adoption.

Previous systematic reviews and meta analysis already showed its primary results, however, there are no recent reviews updating these findings.
Objectives: This systematic review aimed to make an updated systematic review of MST on unipolar and bipolar depression.
is widely known for its role as an arthropod biocontrol agent and plant bioinoculant. By using mass-production industrial methods, it is possible to produce large amounts of fungal single-celled propagules (including blastospores) to be applied in the field. However, in the environment, the solar ultraviolet components (particularly UV-B) can harm the fungus, negatively impacting its pathogenicity toward the arthropod pest.

Methods: We searched registers with MESH terms "prostate hyperplasia," "prostate surgery," and "tranexamic acid." Studies available in full and online, published from 2013 to 2023, in Portuguese, English, Spanish, and French were included; review articles were excluded.
Amber glass has been produced since at least the 6th century BC. Its value derives from its ability to mimic natural amber and, later, from its ultraviolet filtering properties. Until the 19th century, amber glass was widely used for the storage of food and medicines because its protective properties had been empirically recognized.

This study aimed to analyze the sand fly fauna in urban parks in Rio Branco, capital of Acre state, addressing its diversity, infection by Leishmania, and food sources in sand fly females. The sand flies were collected with CDC-type automatic light traps installed in three urban parks in Rio Branco: Captain Ciríaco, Horto Florestal and Chico Mendes.

Surface coatings are essential for stabilizing MNPs, improving biocompatibility, and preventing oxidation that could compromise their functionality. Natural rubber latex (NRL) offers a promising coating alternative due to its biocompatibility and stability-enhancing properties.

We demonstrated that RAinc and K98inc might possess bioactive lipid molecules with anti-inflammatory bias since they inactivated the NF-κB pathway, in contrast to intact lipids. Moreover, different M1/M2 macrophage phenotype markers of polarization were analyzed by RT-qPCR which evidenced that RAinc and K98inc promoted an increased expression of the M2 markers Arginase-1, IL-10, FIZZ and YM-1, and a decreased expression of iNOS and proinflammatory cytokines IL-6 and TNF-α.

However, the major bottleneck with traditional CNC photonic materials is the provision of flexibility and multifunctional properties which often comes with compromises in optical properties. To address these challenges, we incorporated organosolv lignin nanoparticles (LNPs) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) into CNC films.

Context: Modern medicine aims to ensure a world in which all people experience a good end of life as an integral part of their life journey. A good end-of-life experience means dying with dignity and receiving the best healthcare based on scientific evidence.
Objective: This study aims to reach a consensus about the contents of a comprehensive instrument based on the 10/40 Model of the International Collaborative for the Best Care for the Dying Person for evaluating inpatients facing imminent death in Portuguese internal medicine wards and a proposal for anticipatory medication for symptom control in inpatient and home care settings.

Harnessing adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors for therapeutic gene delivery has emerged as a progressively promising strategy to treat disorders of both the central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS), and there are many ongoing clinical trials. However, unique physiological and molecular characteristics of the CNS and PNS pose obstacles to efficient vector delivery, ranging from the blood-brain barrier to the diverse nature of nervous system disorders. Engineering novel AAV capsids may help overcome these ongoing challenges and maximize therapeutic transgene delivery.

We describe a male with vascular risk factors who was admitted two hours after the sudden onset of aphasia, right-sided central facial palsy, homonymous hemianopsia, and ipsilateral hemiplegia/hypoesthesia. Thrombolytic intravenous treatment was started, and the patient had an allergic reaction and required intubation.

Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis were performed following the PRISMA framework. A comprehensive literature search using the PubMed/MEDLINE and EMBASE databases was performed until July 2023.
Objective: Considering the growing evidence that psychological variables might contribute to fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS), our study aims to understand the impact of psychological factors in quantitative sensory testing (QST) in FMS patients by performing a systematic review with meta-analysis.
Methods: A systematic search was carried out in PubMed/MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science, and PsycINFO databases for records up until January 2024. We included 20 studies ( n = 1623, 16 randomized controlled trials, and 4 nonrandomized controlled trials) with low or moderate risk of bias included.
Portland cement (PC) production is among the industrial activities that most emit harmful gases. Its replacement to green binders turns into a timely issue to face the global restrictions due to climate changes. In this study, some properties of cementitious pastes prepared with waste packing glass powder (GP) and silica fume (SF) were characterized in line with a prefixed alkaline equivalent limit.

This innovative technique relies on the precise estimation of micrometric displacements induced by the interaction of an external magnetic field with MNPs. Pulsed MMUS has emerged as a strategic alternative to address limitations associated with harmonic excitation, such as heat generation in amplifiers and coils, frequency-dependent tissue mechanical responses, and prolonged magnetic field rise times.

Background: Pancreatoduodenectomy is associated with an increased incidence of surgical-site infections, often leading to a significant rise in morbidity and mortality. This trend underlines the inadequacy of traditional antibiotic prophylaxis strategies. Hence, the aim of this meta-analysis was to assess the outcomes of antimicrobial prophylaxis, comparing piperacillin/tazobactam with traditional antibiotics.
