Learning, internalisation and integration of the COVID-19 pandemic in healthcare workers: A qualitative document analysis.

The COVID-19 pandemic triggered an unprecedented health crisis that impacted healthcare systems worldwide. This study explores how Spanish healthcare workers learned, internalised and integrated values and work behaviours during the COVID-19 pandemic and their impact on the personal sphere. This documentary research, using images, narratives and audiovisual content, was framed within the interpretative hermeneutic paradigm.

The perception of healthcare professionals, through their own personal experiences, of the use of music therapy in hospitalised children and adolescents.

Background: Music therapy is an emerging and useful methodology for improving patient environments within healthcare fields. However, although it has been shown that music therapy interventions with hospitalised children and adolescents have been used for decades with positive effects, there are currently very few studies that specifically describe the perspectives of healthcare professionals regarding the value of music therapy when applied in these patients.

Objectives: To describe the insights of healthcare professionals regarding music therapy, both on a personal level and in terms of its usefulness in the care of hospitalised children and adolescents.

Women health providers: materials on cures, remedies and sexuality in inquisitorial processes (15th-18th century).

Background: The first inquisitorial trials were against Muslims and Jews. Later, they focused on women, especially caregivers. Progressively, they were linked to witchcraft and sorcery because of their great care, generational and empirical knowledge.

'It's always difficult for women': an analysis of the life stories of sub-Saharan migrant women.

The aim of this study was to understand the perspectives of female residents of Spain from West Africa in terms of the factors that condition their lives. Pierre Bourdieu's theory and the model of intersectionality formed the framework we used to qualitatively analyse the life stories of these women, which was complemented with life lines. The results showed us that traditional practices such as female genital mutilation and forced marriage are part of the social habitus of this group and they relate to each other through the several types of violence that occurs throughout their lives.

The Feelings of Nursing Students during the COVID-19 Confinement: Narrative-Based Nursing and Poetry-of-Care Perspectives.

The relevance of music therapy in paediatric and adolescent cancer patients: a scoping review.

Background: Music therapy is an emerging and useful methodology to improve the quality of life of children and adolescents with cancer.

Objectives: The objective of this scoping review was to examine the available literature and offer an analysis of the relevance of music therapy in paediatric oncology. We considered the effects of music therapy on children and adolescents with cancer as well as the perception of this population, their families, music therapists, and health professionals regarding the music therapy sessions conducted.

Female Genital Mutilation as a Social Norm: Examining the Beliefs and Attitudes of Women in This Diaspora.

In this article, we explore the beliefs, values and attitudes about female genital mutilation in the diaspora of sub-Saharan women and how the migration process has influenced these beliefs. Our qualitative analysis of the life stories and lifelines of 10 women in the sub-Saharan diaspora in light of the Social Convention Theory indicated that making public statements about the topic is complex and that the taboo permeating the practice remains intact even outside of Africa. Furthermore, we discovered that, in our context, this practice was not a requirement and did not improve the chances of marriage, with female behaviours considered 'appropriate' instead gaining value.

Structural Dialectic Model of Care: A Guide to Beliefs, Scenarios and Social Actors Analysis in Nursing Research.

The structural dialectic model of care provides a data analysis method that facilitates the identification of beliefs and structural and functional characteristics. To demonstrate the relevance of the structural dialectic model of care for data analysis integrating beliefs, scenarios and social actors. The characteristics and functions of the model are described and explained through an analysis of its application in fifteen doctoral theses (2009-2017).

Facilitating Factors of Professional Health Practice Regarding Female Genital Mutilation: A Qualitative Study.

According to figures released by UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund), more than 200 million girls and women have suffered female genital mutilation (FGM) in 30 African and Middle East countries. An increasing number of African women who come from ethnic groups where FGM is practised are arriving in Western countries. Healthcare professionals play a fundamental role in its prevention.

Leadership among Women Working to Eradicate Female Genital Mutilation: The Impact of Environmental Change in Transcultural Moments.

Aims: The aim of this study was to explore the longitudinal associations between academic burnout and resilience and psychological well-being, and the stability of these variables in a sample of university nursing students.

Background: Nursing students frequently suffer academic burnout, which is brought on by different situations experienced during the training process and that can concern his psychological well-being. Resilience is a personal resource that allows adverse situations to be handled in a successful way.

The Experience of Living With a Gluten-Free Diet: An Integrative Review.

Celiac disease represents a problem in our society, not only because of its interest in terms of healthcare, but also because of its increasing prevalence in recent years and the impact it has on sufferers and their families. This integrative review investigated current knowledge about the experience of living with a gluten-free diet, as well as social support and the role played by nurses and/or associations in the process. A total of 18 articles were selected.

[Tacit Knowledge: Characteristics in nursing practice].

Introduction: Tacit knowledge can be defined as knowledge which is used intuitively and unconsciously, which is acquired through one's experience, characterized by being personal and contextual. Some terms such as 'intuition', 'know how' and 'implicit knowledge' have been used to describe tacit knowledge. Different disciplines in the fields of management or health have studied tacit knowledge, identifying it as a powerful tool to create knowledge and clinical decision-making.

Self-assessment, reflection on practice and critical thinking in nursing students.

Unlabelled: In accordance with the principles of the European Higher Education Area, the aim of this study was to contribute to the implementation of self-assessment through the application of reflection on learning and critical thinking. The theoretical framework employed was Habermas's critical theory and emancipatory interest as a preliminary step to generate educational transformations. The methodological contribution is the design a student self-assessment document that promotes reflection on action and critical thinking.

Introduction. Globalization of knowledge has emphasized the need to promote the adoption of international exchange programs in nursing. Nevertheless, the differences in cultural, educational, and structural schemes have challenged the mutual appraisal and understanding of the nursing curricula between countries.

Objective: This work sought to inquire on the father's role on the decision making regarding home birth from the perspective of both partners.

Methodology: The design was ethnographic of qualitative nature, conducted in the province of Alicante, Spain. A total of 11 couples participated voluntarily in the study.

[Oncology registries. Evaluation and follow-up of patients undergoing chemotherapy in ambulatory care].

The high treatment demand which outpatient nurses in the Outpatient Oncology Unit have to deal with requires a protocol which guarantees an integrated and continuous patient treatment process. The purpose of this article is to design a standardized format adapted to the Outpatient Oncology Unit at the General University Hospital in Elche in order to evaluate and follow up on patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment. This register makes it possible to improve the organization in this ward as well as improve the scientific knowledge nurses tasks have; the authors emphasize the need to register cases, not only for ethical and legal considerations, but in order to provide maximum usefulness in treatment extended to patients.
