We conducted a systematic review to assess outcomes in Hispanic donors and explore how Hispanic ethnicity was characterized. We searched PubMed, EMBASE, and Scopus through October 2021. Two reviewers independently screened study titles, abstracts, and full texts; they also qualitatively synthesized results and independently assessed quality of included studies.

Low health literacy in the chronic kidney disease population results in lower rates of pre-dialysis preparation and understanding of management to slow progression. The ABCs of Kidney Disease education class provided education in a more consistent manner outside of routine office visits. We aimed to study whether a structured education program would increase kidney disease-specific knowledge and healthcare involvement.

Background: Kidney disease associated with cancer and anti-cancer therapies has been increasingly recognized in the field of onco-nephrology. Its toxicity has previously been reported following oral ingestion in the setting of dyspepsia. However, its use as a non-ingested agent, like a toothpaste additive, has not been reported as a potential cause of toxicity.

Ingestion of toxic alcohols (TA) typically presents with a high anion gap (AG) metabolic acidosis, and elevated osmolar gap (OG). Hemodialysis (HD) has not been recommended in early phases of intoxication with high OG and normal AG metabolic acidosis. We describe the case of a 40-year-old male who was brought to our emergency department for reported paint thinner ingestion.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the difference in overall outcomes between weekend admissions for acute pancreatitis (AP) and weekday admissions.

Methods: Between 2005 and 2012, data were extracted from the Nationwide Inpatient Sample on adult patients with AP. Exclusion criteria were applied for chronic pancreatitis and other pancreatic and biliary malignancies.

Castleman Disease: A Rare Condition with Endocrine Manifestations.

Castleman disease (CD) most commonly affects lymphoid tissues in the thorax, abdomen, pelvis, and neck. Extralymphatic tissues, such as lacrimal glands, lung, pancreas, larynx, parotid, meninges, and even muscles, have also been reported as sites. The etiology is unknown and its incidence has not been reported in the literature.
