Drugs that perturb microtubules are commonly used to treat breast cancers of all subtypes in both early stage and metastatic disease, but they are effective in only approximately 50% of patients. High concentrations of microtubule-targeting agents can elicit mitotic arrest in cell culture models; however, recent evidence from primary and metastatic breast cancers has revealed that these agents only accumulate at intratumoral levels capable of inducing abnormal multipolar mitotic spindles, not mitotic arrest. Although the maintenance of multipolar spindles can generate cytotoxic rates of chromosomal instability (CIN), focusing of aberrant multipolar spindles into normal bipolar spindles can dramatically reduce CIN and confer resistance to microtubule poisons.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFOur aims were to evaluate the feasibility of a framework based on micro-sensor technology for in-field analyses of performance and sub-technique selection in Para cross-country (XC) skiing by using it to compare these parameters between elite standing Para (two men; one woman) and able-bodied (AB) (three men; four women) XC skiers during a classical skiing race. The data from a global navigation satellite system and inertial measurement unit were integrated to compare time loss and selected sub-techniques as a function of speed. Compared to male/female AB skiers, male/female Para skiers displayed 19/14% slower average speed with the largest time loss (65 ± 36/35 ± 6 s/lap) found in uphill terrain.

We aimed to investigate AEs associated with colonoscopy in a real world setting, using the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) lexicon.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study of AEs related to outpatient colonoscopies performed in the North Denmark Region from 2015 to 2018 identified AEs from readmission within eight days or death within 30 days of colonoscopy.
Purpose: To investigate how self-selected pole length (PL) of ∼84% (PL84%) compared with ∼90% (PL90%) of body height influenced performance during a 700-m time trial with undulating terrain on snow.
Methods: Twenty-one cross-country skiers, 7 of whom were women, performed 4 trials at a maximal effort in a counterbalanced fashion with PL84% and PL90% separated by 20-minute breaks between trials. In trials I and II, only double poling was allowed, while in trials III and IV, skiers used self-selected classical subtechniques.
Background: Patients with congestive heart failure (CHF) have impaired functional capacity and inferior quality of life. The clinical manifestations are associated with structural and functional impairments in skeletal muscle, emphasizing a need for feasible rehabilitation strategies beyond optimal anticongestive medical treatment. Methods: A randomised controlled trial concerning supervised hernia repair in eight training hospitals in Denmark was performed.
Background: We tested the effects of exercise intensity, sampling intervals, degree of coronary artery stenosis, and demographic factors on circulating N-terminal pro B-Type natriuretic peptide (NT-pro-BNP) and cardiac Troponin T (cTnT) in subjects suspected of coronary artery disease (CAD).
Materials And Methods: A total of 242 subjects referred for diagnostic evaluation of possible CAD had blood samples obtained before, 5 min after, and again 20 h after a symptom-limited exercise test.
Results: Totally 40 subjects had CAD with ≥ 50% stenosis, 115 subjects had no stenosis and 87 subjects served as controls.
An internet-based survey among Danish doctors specializing in diagnostic radiology revealed differences with respect to the length of internships at regional and university hospitals as well as the educational environment. The university hospitals were generally evaluated to have the best educational facilities except within practical skills. Therefore, it seems necessary to optimize the educational environment at regional hospitals, especially within medical expertise and scientific skills which are key elements regarding continuous development and quality assurance within radiology.

Furthermore the effects of N-terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) requirement in the heart failure diagnosis were assessed by repeating the analyses in the subgroup of patients with elevated NT-proBNP.
Methods And Results: In 1844 patients admitted, a clinical diagnosis of heart failure was made in 433; amongst these 61% had HFPEF.
