Integration of Group A Streptococcus Rapid Tests with the Open Fluidic CandyCollect Device.

The CandyCollect device is a lollipop-inspired open fluidic oral sampling device designed to provide a comfortable user sampling experience. We demonstrate that the CandyCollect device can be coupled with a rapid antigen detection test (RADT) kit designed for Group A Streptococcus (GAS). Through experiments with pooled saliva spiked with we tested various reagents and elution volumes to optimize the RADT readout from CandyCollect device samples.

The tumor suppressor p53 responds to cellular stress and activates transcription programs critical for regulating cell fate. DNA damage triggers oscillations in p53 levels with a robust period. Guided by the theory of synchronization and entrainment, we developed a mathematical model and experimental system to test the ability of the p53 oscillator to entrain to external drug pulses of various periods and strengths.

Recent developments in ultrashort and intense laser systems have enabled the generation of short and brilliant proton sources, which are valuable for studying plasmas under extreme conditions in high-energy-density physics. Mobile laboratory measurements of air pollutants in Baltimore, MD elucidate issues of environmental justice.

The City of Baltimore, MD has a history of problems with environmental justice (EJ), air pollution, and the urban heat island (UHI) effect. Current chemical transport models lack the resolution to simulate concentrations on the scale needed, about 100 m, to identify the neighborhoods with anomalously high air pollution levels. In this paper we introduce the capabilities of a mobile laboratory and an initial survey of several pollutants in Baltimore to identify which communities are exposed to disproportionate concentrations of air pollution and to which species.

Here we describe strategies and techniques for the use of 3-dimensional intracardiac echocardiography as an adjunct to standard transesophageal echocardiography during TTVR procedure.

Bioequivalence and Safety of Bilastine 20 mg Orodispersible Tablets and Conventional Tablets: A Randomized, Single-Dose, Two-Period Crossover Study in Healthy Volunteers Under Fasting Conditions.

Background And Objective: Orodispersible tablets (ODT) rapidly dissolve in the oral cavity and can improve patient's convenience. This pharmacokinetic study assessed the bioequivalence of a novel 20 mg ODT formulation of bilastine compared with bilastine 20 mg tablets in healthy volunteers under fasting conditions.

Methods: A phase I, single-center, open-label, two-period, two-sequence crossover randomized clinical trial was conducted.

The images originate from orthodontic patients in Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, encompassing both initial phases and ongoing treatments. The dataset is divided into two groups: 100 images from female subjects (CoF) and 100 from male subjects (CoM), facilitating gender-specific studies.

The impact of hydroxyurea (HU) on the ovarian reserve of female patients with sickle cell disease (SCD) remains poorly elucidated. Only direct histological analysis of ovarian follicle density can effectively evaluate HU's effect on ovarian reserve. By analyzing digitized slides of ovarian tissue from girls and young women with SCD who underwent ovarian tissue cryopreservation (OTC) before hematological stem cell transplantation, we meticulously counted follicles and categorized them based on their growth stage.
