Heart failure (HF) is a highly prevalent syndrome in elderly subjects. Currently, multiple drugs have shown clinical benefits in patients with HF and reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). However, evidence is scarce in elderly patients (beyond 75 years old), even more so for the latest drugs, such as angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitors (ARNIs).

Shotgun metagenomic sequencing data of sunflower rhizosphere microbial community in South Africa.

This dataset presents shotgun metagenomic sequencing of sunflower rhizosphere microbiome in Bloemhof, South Africa. Data were collected to decipher the structure and function in the sunflower microbial community. Illumina HiSeq platform using next generation sequencing of the DNA was carried out.

Improvement in Serum Anti-Müllerian Hormone Levels in Infertile Patients after Hyperbaric Oxygen (preliminary results).

Objective: To assess whether hyperbaric oxygen sessions elevate serum levels of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) in patients diagnosed with infertility with serum levels of less than or equal to 1 ng/dl AMH.

Methods: A study was performed on 4 patients diagnosed with infertility. Serum AMH level was measured at the beginning and end of hyperbaric oxygen sessions, and endometrial thickness was measured on endometrial cycle day 14 before and during the hyperbaric oxygen sessions.

Sexual and Reproductive Health are considered at present as a Human Right that must be guaranteed by the State. In Argentina some Federal, Provincial and Municipal Laws have been sanctioned in order to guarantee this right through programs that bring information, counselling and implementation in the use of contraceptive methods, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections and genitomammary pathologies. Many Institutions, including Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, have been incorporated in these programs.

Selection strategy for a seedling seed orchard design based on trait selection index and genomic analysis by molecular markers: a case study for Eucalyptus dunnii.

Molecular genetic analysis was applied to 162 individuals of 37 half-sib selected families belonging to six provenances of Eucalyptus dunnii Maiden in a provenance/family trial. The individuals were selected by a trait selection index and genetic diversity criteria were later applied for designing seedling seed orchards. Genetic diversity and its distribution, as well as relationships among individuals, were assessed on the basis of nine microsatellite loci and 243 amplified fragment length polymorphism markers.

A 13-month multicenter clinical experience of a low-dose monophasic oral contraceptive containing 20 microg ethinylestradiol and 75 microg gestodene in Latin American women.

This prospective, multicenter study was conducted to evaluate the contraceptive reliability, cycle control and tolerability of a 21-day oral contraceptive regimen containing 20 microg ethinylestradiol and 75 microg gestodene in four Latin American countries (Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia). Participants took trial medication daily for 21 days. Contraceptive efficacy, cycle control and tolerability were evaluated over a period of 13 cycles.
