Background: Carotid body tumor (CBT) is a rare neoplasm that arises from the chemoreceptor cells located at the carotid bifurcation. Giant CBTs are extremely rare, with only 16 cases reported to date.
Case Summary: A 63-year-old male with an unremarkable medical history presented with a right-sided, giant, Shamblin III CBT.

Purpose: Monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1/CCL2) plays a key role for infiltration of monocytes/macrophages and studies have demonstrated that the MCP-1/C-C chemokine receptor 2 (CCR2) axis might be involved in the pathogenesis and progression of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA). Molecular imaging has shown potential for human clinical research studies. PAD is a progressive condition with high rates of amputation and mortality due to ischemic damage and limited graft options. Traditional synthetic grafts often fail due to poor integration, while autologous grafts may be unsuitable for patients with compromised vascular health.

Background: Endovascular therapy with balloon percutaneous angioplasty (PTA) in the femoro-popliteal segment is frequently performed, however, long-term favorable outcomes and patency remain challenging, with restenosis rates reaching 60% post-standard balloon angioplasty. Drug-coated balloons (DCBs) have shown promise in improving these outcomes; Paclitaxel, used in DCBs, inhibits hyperplasia and smooth muscle cell proliferation, reducing restenosis; however, the optimal dose of Paclitaxel remains unclear, with high-dose (HD-DCB [>3 mg/mm]) and low-dose (LD-DCB [<2.0 mg/mm]) options available.

Methods: An observational study in which we analyzed the entirely of patients in which an AAA was reported in a Computed Tomography (CT) study from 2014 to 2021 who had a follow-up CT.

Background: Hemodialysis (HD) patients present an increased carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) and calcified plaques, and studies have demonstrated that CIMT is predictor for cardiovascular death in this patient population; hence, the importance of identifying early non-invasive markers of atherosclerosis. We aim to propose a new three-perspective CIMT measuring method in HD population, and to further investigate the possible use and value of this method to predict outcomes.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted, the CIMT was measured with duplex ultrasound during the perioperative access planning.
Background: In Mexico, there is a paucity of evidence on mortality and hospitalization patterns associated with aortic aneurysms and dissections.
Objective: To analyze national databases and describe the epidemiological characteristics of different aortic pathologies.

Aneurysms are clinical entities that can develop and affect human aorta; and although in most cases they have an asymptomatic course, these pathological dilatations can lead to a lethal outcome when rupture occurs, thus the establishment of predictors is crucial for death prevention. Essential events that take place in the vessel wall have been identified and described, such as inflammation, proteolysis, smooth muscle cell apoptosis, angiogenesis, and vascular remodeling. The literature has shown evidence of an important number of radiotracers for specific molecules involved in the activity of these entities and their utility as predictors during surveillance and possible therapeutic targets.

The objective of the present study is to establish long-term survival after retroperitoneal tumor resection surgery with an emphasis on the potential impact of preventing or repairing major vessel injuries when tumors are adjacent to the aorta or vena cava.
