This experiment evaluated the effects of supplementing narasin during late-gestation and lactation on productive and physiological responses of beef heifers and their offspring. Pregnant, nulliparous Nelore heifers ( = 88) that conceived under the same fixed-time artificial insemination protocol and to the same sire were used. Heifers were ranked by maternal ability genomic score, body weight () and body condition score () and allocated to 44 drylot pens (2 heifers per pen; 10 × 25 m).

Schistosomiasis remains a serious public health concern in Brazil and the Schistosomiasis Control Program (PCE) was elaborated to assist in the control of the disease. Nevertheless, the irruption of the COVID-19 pandemic may have impacted the program. Herein, we assessed the impact of the pandemic on PCE actions in an endemic area in the region with the highest positivity rate for schistosomiasis in Brazil.

Ex vivo model with bovine heart: a proposal for training microscopic dissection and vascularmicroanastomoses.

Training is a process that requires patience and constant practice. The execution of microscopic procedures is present in the day-to-day of several surgical specialties, but unfortunately experimental models are not easy to access in our environment. We propose a bovine heart model used by residents and young surgeons in the training of microscopic dissection and microanastomoses.
