[Effect of the management of class I obesity with metformin on metalloproteinase activity in patients with chronic periodontitis].

Introduction: in Mexico the main problem in public health is obesity and other diseases that are associated whit this condition, including oral health. Objective: to evaluate the effect of metformin treatment in patients with class I obese on the activity of metalloproteinases present in periodontium with chronic periodontitis. Methods: a clinical study was conducted in 68 patients with class I obesity and periodontal disease.
