[Culture and mental health in Haiti : a literature review].

This paper reviews and summarizes the available literature on Haitian mental health and mental health services. This review was conducted in light of the Haitian earthquake in January 2010. We searched Medline, Google Scholar and other available databases to gather scholarly literature relevant to mental health in Haiti.

In this "interview," C. Sterlin, founder of the Transcultural Clinic of Jean-Talon Hospital (Montreal) describes the historical background of the intercultural movement in the clinical field, and proposes a clinico-political classification of the intercultural approaches in psychiatry. He describes the development of the Jean-Talon Project, and the circumstances of its failure.
