Medial humeral epicondyle fractures are seen in about one-fourth of all elbow fractures in the pediatric population. Though it seems to be a common occurrence, there is still controversy existing on the treatment aspects to date. Among these fractures, about one-fourth are seen incarcerated into the elbow joint and this is managed surgically.

Radiographical Evaluation of Morphological Alterations of Mandibular Third Molars: A Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) Study.

Introduction  Morphological changes or variations in the lower third molar can be of concern during the endodontic, orthodontic, or prosthetic intervention. The goal of the present study was to evaluate the morphological alterations in the roots and root canal of a mandibular third molar in Bhopal, Central India, on cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images. Methodology CBCT scans of 277 mandibular molars, of both genders, between the ages of 18 and 60 years were assessed for the presence of root numbers, the configuration of the canal based on Vertucci's categorization, and a C-shaped canal.

World-standardised average annual incidence and mortality rates were calculated for 2000-2004, 2005-2009, 2010-2013.

Cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis (CTX), also known as CTX, is an extremely rare bile acid metabolic disorder caused by mutations in the cytochrome P450 family 27 subfamily A member 1 (CYP27A1) gene. This genetic disease is inherited in an autosomal recessive manner, and it affects the enzyme sterol 27-hydroxylase, which is involved in the bile acid metabolic process. It is distinguished by diarrhoea in infancy, early juvenile cataract, tendon xanthomas in adolescence, and progressive neuropsychiatric dysfunction in adulthood.

Supervised deep learning techniques have been very popular in medical imaging for various tasks of classification, segmentation, and object detection. However, they require a large number of labelled data which is expensive and requires many hours of careful annotation by experts. In this paper, an unsupervised transporter neural network framework with an attention mechanism is proposed to automatically identify relevant landmarks with applications in lung ultrasound (LUS) imaging.

Exotic Dark Matter Search with the CDEX-10 Experiment at China's Jinping Underground Laboratory.

A search for exotic dark matter (DM) in the sub-GeV mass range has been conducted using 205 kg day data taken from a p-type point contact germanium detector of the CDEX-10 experiment at China's Jinping underground laboratory. New low-mass dark matter searching channels, neutral current fermionic DM absorption (χ+A→ν+A) and DM-nucleus 3→2 scattering (χ+χ+A→ϕ+A), have been analyzed with an energy threshold of 160 eVee. No significant signal was found; thus new limits on the DM-nucleon interaction cross section are set for both models at the sub-GeV DM mass region.

A Comparative Study of Success Rates of Post and Core Treated Anterior and Posterior Teeth Using Cast Metal Posts.

Background: Post and core restorations are performed (generally after treating the root canals of the tooth) when the majority of the tooth structure has been rendered ineffective to support itself/the crown of the tooth. In this clinical study, we aim to compare the difference between post and core treatment of anterior and posterior teeth and their success/failure rates.

Objective: Our investigation aimed to compare the clinical survival rates of custom-fabricated cast metal post-and-cores in cases of anterior and posterior teeth while controlling for the population's age and gender, type of post material, length of the post, amount of alveolar bone tissue supporting the roots, tooth location in the dental arch, and type of cement used, as well as the effect of opposing dentition and the type of definitive prosthetic treatment received.

Development of Self-Healing Carbon/Epoxy Composites with Optimized PAN/PVDF Core-Shell Nanofibers as Healing Carriers.

Two-component self-healing carbon/epoxy composites were fabricated by incorporating healing agents between to carbon fiber laminates via the vacuum bagging method. Vinyl ester (VE), cobalt naphthalene (CN), and methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) were encapsulated in a polyacrylonitrile (PAN)/Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) shell via co-axial electrospinning. Varying nanofiber compositions were fabricated, namely, 10, 20, 30, and 40% PAN in PVDF nanofibers.

Osseodensification implant site preparation technique and subsequent implant stability: A pilot study.

Objective: The objective of the present study was to evaluate and compare primary and secondary implant stability of conical endosteal implants placed using osseodensification osteotomy and conventional osteotomy techniques.

Materials And Methods: The present study was designed as a prospective, observational study in which a total of 26 endosteal implants were placed in the posterior edentulous regions of upper and lower jaws in 13 patients divided into two groups, Group A and Group B. In Group A, implants were placed using osseodensification osteotomy technique while in Group B, conventional osteotomy technique was used.
