Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a significant public health problem and it is known that the identification of molecular markers involved in glycemic control can impact disease control. Although the rs266729 polymorphism located in the promoter of the adiponectin gene (ADP) has been shown to be a candidate for involvement in glycemic control, the genotypic groups have never been characterized in terms of metabolomic aspects. Objective: Analyze the metabolites present in the rs266729 genotype groups.

Metabolomics is a science that is currently being explored in the search for biomarkers or profiles that identify clinical conditions of interest.
Objective: This study aimed to analyze, using a metabolomic approach, peripheral blood samples from type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2) individuals, compared with those with diabetic retinopathy and limb amputation.

Introduction: The prevalence of hypertension and obesity are a worldwide concern.
Objetives: Assess the metabolites profile after intervention with mixed dietary fiber in overweight and obese normotensive women.
Methods: This is a randomized double blind placebo-controlled study.

Metabolomics has been increasingly used to evaluate metabolic changes associated with morbidities. The objective of this study is to assess the metabolic profile before and after intervention with mixed dietary fiber in overweight and obese hypertensive women. This is an intervention study, and the sample consists of 14 women aged 28 to 58 years.

Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase () C677T polymorphism associated with body fat accumulation could possibly trigger an inflammatory process by elevating homocysteine levels and increasing cytokine production, causing several diseases. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of food intervention, and not folate supplements, on the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in overweight and obese women with the C677T polymorphism. A randomized, double-blind eight-week clinical trial of 48 overweight and obese women was conducted.

Introduction: The increase in the number of cases of microcephaly in Brazil and its association with the Zika virus (ZIKV) is a global public health problem. The International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health (ICF) model is a powerful tool and extremely relevant in managing disability.
Objective: Describe the functioning profile of children with microcephaly associated with ZIKV in two states of northeastern Brazil.
