Background: Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in many countries. Advances in technology have been promoted in this regard, especially in tissue engineering, to meet the need for tissue or organ grafts. In this way, the porcine model has been used due to its morphophysiological similarity between the human species, mainly regarding the cardiovascular system.

The onset of gestation is characterized by growth, morphological and functional changes of the placenta. We aim to evaluate the placental compartments in New Zealand rabbits by means of stereological methods. The fetal and maternal portion of placenta (12, 14, 18 and 20 gestational days) was randomly sampled for the stereological analysis.

The present study describes the embryonic and fetal development of the central nervous system in rabbits from the seventh day after conception until the end of the full-term fetal period. A total of 19 embryonic and fetal samples were carefully dissected and microscopically analyzed. Neural tube closure was observed between 7.

Purpose Of The Study: Several tissues have been decellularized and their extracellular matrices used as allogeneic or xenogeneic scaffolds, either in orthotopic or heterotopic implantations, for tissue engineering purposes. Placentas have abundant matrix, extensive microvascular structure, immunomodulatory properties, growth factors and are discarded after birth, representing an interesting source of extracellular matrix. This study aimed at comparing decellularized canine placentas and murine skeletal muscles to regenerate skeletal muscles in a rat model.

Studies in somatic cells have shown that glucocorticoids such as dexamethasone (DEX) may trigger or prevent apoptosis depending on the cell type in culture. Because the dysregulation of apoptosis may lower in vitro embryo production efficiency, we sought to investigate the effects of supplementing IVC medium with DEX (0.1 μg/mL) on embryo morphology, development kinetics, and apoptosis rates of in vitro-produced bovine preimplantation embryos.
