The study aimed to assess the growth rate and weight gain in prepubertal children with asthma.
A total of 85 asthmatic children (under 9 years) were evaluated, revealing that 31.8% had excess weight, yet this was not linked to asthma severity.
The findings indicated that children with moderate/severe persistent asthma showed a significantly low growth rate compared to those with milder forms of asthma, while steroid use did not impact growth rates.
