Materials And Methods: Teeth from 84 adult individuals from eight distinct samples spanning the Middle-Late Neolithic to the Middle Bronze Age (Cova de l'Avi, Cova de Can Sadurní, Cova de la Guineu, Cova Foradada, Cova del Trader, Roc de les Orenetes, Cova del Gegant, Cova dels Galls Carboners) were analyzed using optical microscopy to examine buccal dental microwear patterns.

The excessive accumulation of chloride (Cl) in leaves due to salinity is frequently related to decreased yield in citrus. Two salt tolerance experiments to detect quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for leaf concentrations of Cl, Na, and other traits using the same reference progeny derived from the salt-tolerant Cleopatra mandarin () and the disease-resistant donor were performed with the aim to identify repeatable QTLs that regulate leaf Cl (and/or Na) exclusion across independent experiments in citrus, as well as potential candidate genes involved. A repeatable QTL controlling leaf Cl was detected in chromosome 6 (), where 23 potential candidate genes coding for transporters were identified using the genome as reference.

This study presents the surgical experience and long-term outcomes of living donor kidney transplantations involving asymptomatic kidney stones, using ex vivo flexible ureterorenoscopy (f-URS) during bench surgery for stone removal. Out of 1743 living kidney donors assessed between January 2012 and October 2022, 18 (1%) were diagnosed with urolithiasis. Among them, 12 donors were rejected, and 6 were accepted for kidney donation.

Salt tolerance is a target trait in plant science and tomato breeding programs. Wild tomato accessions have been often explored for this purpose. Since shoot Na/K is a key component of salt tolerance, RNAi-mediated knockdown isogenic lines obtained for alleles encoding both class I Na transporters HKT1;1 and HKT1;2 were used to investigate the silencing effects on the Na and K contents of the xylem sap, and source and sink organs of the scion, and their contribution to salt tolerance in all 16 rootstock/scion combinations of non-silenced and silenced lines, under two salinity treatments.

Neonatal immune-microbiota co-development is poorly understood, yet age-appropriate recognition of - and response to - pathogens and commensal microbiota is critical to health. In this longitudinal study of 148 preterm and 119 full-term infants from birth through one year of age, we found that postmenstrual age or weeks from conception is a central factor influencing T cell and mucosal microbiota development. Numerous features of the T cell and microbiota functional development remain unexplained; however, by either age metric and are instead shaped by discrete perinatal and postnatal events.
