Subsequently, a cation-rich PGP (QCPGP) was prepared from ACPGP through the addition of glycidyltrimethyl ammonium chloride (GTAC) and a secondary quaternization. The step-by-step preparation process was confirmed, and the adsorption properties of PGP, ACPGP, and QCPGP were compared in detail.

However, previous observational studies have yielded inconclusive evidence regarding this relationship. Our study aims to elucidate the causal relationship between TL and ASD using bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR).

Here, we found that stimulating TRPV1+ nerves at the nape activated the nucleus of the solitary tract and C1 neurons in the brainstem via the somatosensory afferent pathway, and rapidly induced the secretion of corticosterone, and drove the vagal-adrenal axis to release serum catecholamines, and activated the autonomic-splenic reflex to suppress cytokine production. RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) analysis revealed that stimulating TRPV1+ nerves significantly changed the expression of genes enriched in multiple pathways related to the inflammatory response in the spleen under pathological and normal physiological conditions.

This study evaluates the performance of current in-house liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) methods used in top Chinese clinical laboratories and proposes an optimized method for improving serum 25(OH)D measurement accuracy and reliability.
Methods: Seven serum pools with different concentrations of 25(OH)D were prepared and sent to 12 participating laboratories for multiple repeat analysis with their current in-house LC-MS/MS methods and then an optimized LC-MS/MS method.
Preeclampsia (PE) is a serious pregnancy complication that contributes to maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. Understanding its pathogenesis and revealing predictive biomarkers are essential for guiding treatment decisions. In order to explore the global changes of serum metabolites in PE patients and identify potential predictive biomarkers for suspected PE patients (pregnant women who had already shown PE-related symptoms in the middle to late stages of pregnancy, but were not yet confirmatively diagnosed as PE.

However, achieving precise control over the fate of neural stem cells (NSCs) to ensure biological functionality remains challenging. Cell behaviors are closely linked to cellular dynamics and cell-matrix mechanotransduction within a 3D microenvironment.

Methods: A total of 189 cases of school-age children who underwent health examinations in our hospital were enrolled, according to the presence or absence of dental fluorosis. They were divided into the fluorosis group (n=97) and fluoride-free group (n=92), and the serum BALP, OC, MMP-2, MMP-9, MMP-20, and PTH levels of the two groups were compared and relevant clinical data were collected.
Metallothionein 1J pseudogene (MT1JP) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that functions as a tumor suppressor in various malignancies. Reduced MT1JP expression is associated with increased tumor proliferation, migration, invasion, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and treatment resistance in nine cancers, such as gastric cancer, intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and breast cancer. Mechanistically, MT1JP acts as a competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) to regulate oncogenic microRNAs (miRNAs), including miR-92a-3p, miR-214-3p, and miR-24-3p.

This study investigates the interplay between job satisfaction and occupational stress, burnout, and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among this group. A cross-sectional survey was conducted involving 21 female dental hygienists from Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital.

The conventional time-lag method relies on accurately monitoring the pressure rise in a constant volume downstream from the membrane following a change in pressure upstream from the membrane. The same information could be extracted from the upstream pressure decay in the same time-lag experiment.

Methods: A hospital-based oral hygiene training program was developed at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital's (SRRSH) Dental Clinic with the support of two registered DHs from Loma Linda University in California. A questionnaire evaluating oral health knowledge, attitudes and behaviours was conducted in patients who visited SRRSH's Dental Clinic.
The study aimed to determine whether asymptomatic rats with cervical spinal cord compression (CSCC) experience more severe cervical spinal cord injury (SCI) compared with rats without CSCC under the same degree of minor trauma. Four weeks after the polyvinyl alcohol-polyacrylamide hydrogel was implanted into the C5 vertebral canal, asymptomatic rats were selected based on locomotor function score. Mild cervical SCI was subsequently established based on CSCC.

This enzyme synergy offers promising therapeutic application for diseases such as alcohol intoxication, cancer, and hyperinflammation. Despite their potential, the clinical translation of enzyme cascades is restricted by challenges including poor enzyme stability, short half-life, and a lack of delivery strategies that maintain enzyme proximity.

However, screening for functional maternal-specific factors is challenging due to the time- and labor-intensive nature of traditional approaches. Here, we combine a computational pipeline and F0 null mutant technology to screen for functional maternal-specific chromatin regulators in zebrafish embryogenesis and identify Mcm3l, Mcm6l, and Npm2a as playing essential roles in DNA replication and cell division.

Methods: A database was established by reviewing 1576 anonymous panoramic radiographs of children aged 6-12 years, collected at the Stomatology Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. These radiographs were categorised as normal or ectopic eruption, with expert diagnoses serving as a benchmark for training and evaluating artificial intelligence (AI) models.
Faced with infectious bone defects, the development of a thermosensitive hydrogel containing icariin (ICA) represents a promising therapeutic strategy targeting infection control and bone regeneration. In this study, we prepared and evaluated the physicochemical properties, in vitro and in vivo drug release, antimicrobial activity, anti-inflammatory properties, and bone repair effects of ICA/Chitosan/β-Glycerophosphate (ICA/CTS/β-GP) thermosensitive hydrogel. Our findings demonstrate that the ICA/CTS/β-GP thermosensitive hydrogel undergoes a liquid-to-gel transition at body temperature, which is crucial for maintaining local drug release at the defect site.

However, the translation of these non-natural molecules into successful therapeutics can be hampered by developability challenges. Here, we systematically analyzed 64 different antibody constructs targeting Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) which cover 8 distinct molecular format families, encompassing full-length antibodies, various types of single chain variable fragments, and bispecifics.

Inflammation is present throughout the process of venous thrombosis, and various metabolic pathways of erythrocytes, endothelial cells, and immune cells involved in venous thrombosis, including glucose metabolism, lipid metabolism, homocysteine metabolism, and oxidative stress, are associated with inflammation. While the metabolic microenvironment has been identified as a marker of malignancy, recent studies have revealed that for cancer thrombosis, alterations in the metabolic microenvironment appear to also be a potential risk.

Background: Fiber post (FP) reinforced restoration was widespread in endodontically treated teeth, of which the retention was closely related to fit and operation process. However, the question whether the fit and self-etching adhesive (SED) affect the success of FP restoration still remained unclear.
Objective: This research aimed to assess how the fit and self-etching adhesive (SED) impact the pull-out bond strength (BS) of glass fiber-reinforced composite posts from the root canal dentin.
