Introduction: Understanding the molecular signals associated with the progression of kidney disease is vital for risk stratification and targeted treatment. Recent advances in RNA-sequencing technique has enabled us to characterize extracellular transcriptome profiles for precision diagnostics.
Method: We evaluated the plasma mRNA profile of participants exhibiting slow (n=119) and fast (n=119) decline in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) among the Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort (CRIC) in a nested case control study.
Understanding tissue-specific RNA landscapes is essential for uncovering the functional mechanisms of key organs in mammals. However, current knowledge remains limited, as short-read RNA sequencing-the predominant method for assessing gene expression-depends on incomplete gene annotations and struggles to resolve the diverse transcripts produced by genes. To address these limitations, an integrative approach combining nanopore direct RNA sequencing (DRS), ATAC-Seq, and short-read RNA-seq is used.

This study explores the hypothesis that non-conserved lncRNAs in human and mouse livers may share similar metabolic functions, giving rise to functionally conserved lncRNA metabolic regulators (fcLMRs).
Methods: We developed a sequence-independent strategy to select putative fcLMRs, and performed extensive analysis to determine the functional similarities of putative human and mouse LMR pairs (h/mLMRs).
Fibrotic liver features excessive deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM), primarily produced from "activated" hepatic stellate cells (HSCs). While targeting human HSCs (hHSCs) in fibrosis therapeutics shows promise, the overall understanding of hHSC activation remains limited, in part because it is very challenging to define the role of human long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in hHSC activation. To address this challenge, we identified another cell type that acts via a diverse gene network to promote fibrogenesis.

Inhibiting testosterone synthesis by interfering with steroidogenic gene expression induces testicular toxicity, however, whether prenatal DEHP exposure induces testicular toxicity through this mechanism remains uncertain.
Methods: C57BL/6JGpt male mice underwent different doses (0, 100, 500, 1,000 mg/kg) of prenatal DEHP exposure during gestational day 10 to delivery day, the testicular toxicity (genital development, testosterone, semen quality, and morphology of testis tissue) in the neonatal, post-puberal and middle-aged stages was observed, and the steroidogenic gene (, , , , , and ) expression was analyzed by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and Western blot (WB).
Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), a prevalent plasticizer, is known to have endocrine-disrupting effects on males and cause reproductive toxicity. There were causal effects of DEHP on testosterone levels in the real world by Mendelian randomization analysis. Exposure to DEHP during the preadult stage might lead to premature testicular senescence, but the mechanisms responsible for this have yet to be determined.

Materials And Methods: A set of exLncRNA pairs with the best potential biomarkers was selected and validated in 96 NOA samples. Weighted correlation network analysis (WGCNA) and Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator were used to identify possible biomarkers for these pairs (LASSO).
Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common type of neurodegenerative disorder. There are few effective medications for halting the progression of AD. Telmisartan (TEL) is a widely used anti-hypertensive drug approved by FDA.

However, the evidence is weak, and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. p38/extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK)/c-Jun NH(2)-terminal kinase (JNK) MAPK pathways participate in aging.

However, the specific effects of heavy metals on cancers remain to be proven. To confirm the association between heavy metals and pan-cancer sex hormone levels among adults, 94,337 individuals from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey were assessed.

This study aimed to assess the impact of stress hyperglycemia ratio on early neurological deterioration and favorable outcome after thrombectomy in patients with acute ischemic stroke.
Methods: Stroke patients with endovascular thrombectomy in two comprehensive centers were enrolled.
Introduction: Xin-Li-Fang (XLF), a representative Chinese patent medicine, was derived from years of clinical experience by academician Chen Keji, and is widely used to treat chronic heart failure (CHF). However, there remains a lack of high-quality evidence to support clinical decision-making. Therefore, we designed a randomized controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of XLF for CHF.

We developed an improved ureteral stent-change operation for hydronephrosis in cervical cancer patients and compared its outcomes with traditional stent change procedures.
Study Design: Clinical data of hydronephrosis in cervical cancer patients who were admitted to our hospital from August 2014 to October 2019 were analyzed.
Background And Purpose: The impact of serum caveolin-1 (Cav-1) on clinical outcomes in patients after mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is unclear. We aimed to investigate the association between serum cav-1 levels and the 3-month functional outcome.
Methods: We prospectively enrolled and analyzed patients with an anterior circulation large vessel occlusion who underwent MT.
Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the long-term effect of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) using clopidogrel plus aspirin versus aspirin monotherapy after intravenous thrombolysis on functional outcomes in patients with minor stroke.
Methods: Patients with acute ischemic stroke with a National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score ≤ 5 who received either DAPT or aspirin monotherapy following recombinant tissue plasminogen activator intravenous thrombolysis were studied. Data recorded between January 2017 and December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the association between high-mobility-group box 1 (HMGB1) and stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP) in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients. Methods: AIS patients were enrolled in two centers. The serum samples were collected within the first 24 h after admission, and HMGB1 levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

We aimed to evaluate the association among adhesion molecule levels, symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH), and clinical outcome and to determine whether the sICH influences the association of adhesion molecules with functional outcome.
Methods: Patients with large artery occlusion in the anterior circulation and treated with MT were prospectively recruited.
Cuproptosis is a novel form of cell death, correlated with the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle. However, the metabolic features and the benefit of immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy based on cuproptosis have not yet been elucidated in Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). First, we identified and validated three cuproptosis subtypes based on 10 cuproptosis-related genes (CRGs) in HCC patients.
