Protective Effects of Quercetin on Necrotizing Enterocolitis in a Neonatal Rat Model.

Introduction:  Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is one of the major health problems of newborn period. To date, a large amount of chemicals have been tested for NEC and some showed limited beneficial effects. The research for better results still continues.

Evaluation of the relation between interstitial cells of cajal (CD117) and serotonin receptor (5HT-3A) with postfundoplication dysphagia.

Objective: The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of Nissen fundoplication to the pacemaker cells of an intestinal system and the serotonin receptors on an ICC membrane.

Methods: Sixteen adult male rats were taken into study. Rats were divided in to the following two groups.

Pediatric ureteroceles: diagnosis, management and treatment options.

Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate clinical characteristics of ureteroceles particularly for diagnostic and treatment challenges.

Methods: Data about patients treated for ureterocele in the two hospital clinics during 1996- 2009 are retrospectively evaluated.

Findings: There were 12 girls and 7 boys.
