The experience of parents of children with intellectual disabilities/autism who experienced the Kahramanmaraş earthquake in Türkiye.

In the Kahramanmaraş earthquake on February 6, 2023, which was described as the most severe earthquake on land worldwide and the disaster of century, the loss of life and material losses reached serious levels. In this study, it was aimed to examine the experiences of 21 individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities affected by the Kahramanmaraş earthquake by interviewing their families regarding this process. Fifteen parents of one/more children diagnosed with intellectual disability/autism spectrum disorder participated in this study, which was conducted with a phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research designs.

Views and experiences of individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their mothers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic is thought to have a variety of effects on people with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The purpose of this study was to look into the perspectives and experiences of people with ASD and their mothers regarding the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current study employs a qualitative research approach.

The Prevalence of Protein S Variant in Patients Diagnosed with COVID-19.

Background: The rapid spread of the new severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) which causes the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) facilitated the emergence of numerous variants. The present study aimed to investigate the prevalence and change of important "S" protein variants such as N501Y, DelH69/ 70, and E484K in SARS CoV-2 PCR positive patients diagnosed with COVID-19 who have referred to a private hospital within the period that mutations were detected during COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: One hundred and eighty-seven patients who have been referred due to the suspicion of COVID-19 between December 2020 and April 2021 and in whom SARS-CoV-2 was detected positive in the PCR test were enrolled into the study.

'I did not even receive even a phone call from any institution!': experiences and recommendations related to disability during COVID-19.

Individuals with disabilities and their families, among the disadvantaged groups in society, have encountered increased hardships accessing support and services in various social contexts, such as education, health, transportation, rehabilitation, and social services. Thus, it is essential to examine parents' experiences as a background catalyzer to improve the currently available services and provide psychological and social support. This study examined the experiences of families of children with disabilities who were in Turkey during the pandemic's early stages, and yielded suggestions based on these experiences.
