Background MRI-guided focal laser ablation (FLA) is a promising treatment in localized prostate cancer (PCa). MRI-guided micro-US FLA shows potential for outpatient use, but its clinical application remains unexplored. Purpose To evaluate the safety, feasibility, and 12-month functional and oncologic outcomes of MRI-guided micro-US transperineal FLA in localized PCa and to assess the accuracy of micro-US in showing lesions depicted at MRI with Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) score of 3 or higher.

Introduction: The aim of this publication is to review the initial management procedure for adrenal incidentalomas, and where appropriate, to establish a carcinological management procedure for malignant adrenal tumours.

Materials And Methods: The multidisciplinary working group updated the CCAFU 2022 recommendations for the carcinological management of adrenal incidentalomas on the basis of a comprehensive PubMed review of the literature.

Results: Although the majority of adrenal masses are benign and nonfunctional, it is important to investigate them because of their serious endocrine potential, and because of certain cancers.

Article Synopsis
  • The objective of the review is to update guidelines for managing testicular germ cell tumors (TGT) based on recent literature from 2022.
  • Initial diagnosis involves clinical exam, serum marker levels (AFP, hCG, LDH), and imaging techniques like ultrasound and CT scans; treatment starts with inguinal orchiectomy which helps in defining the tumor stage and treatment approach.
  • For specific stages of the tumors, treatment strategies vary, including surveillance for stage I seminomas, risk-adapted options for stage I non-seminomatous tumors, and chemotherapy for metastatic cases, with additional measures like radiotherapy for certain seminoma stages.

Article Synopsis
  • The objective of the study is to update guidelines for managing penile lesions and cancers.
  • A review of literature from 2022 indicates that 95% of infiltrating penile cancers are squamous cell carcinomas, often linked to HPV, and the treatment plan varies based on tumor risk classification.
  • Key recommendations emphasize the importance of evaluating lymph node involvement, using techniques like sentinel node biopsy for staging, and having surgery as the primary treatment method, sometimes alongside chemotherapy for advanced cases.

The prognostic of certain cancers improved significantly in recent years thanks not only to the launch of innovative treatments but also to progress made in the diagnostic field. Thus, next-generation sequencing (NGS) became paramount to help characterizing tumors and selecting the most pertinent treatments. The survey conducted by a multi stakeholder committee, at the end of 2022, with 103 actors of the management of cancer patients (public and private centers, labs, prescribers, biologists, pathologists, direction) confirmed the heterogeneity of use of NGS tests across France due to, mainly, the lack of systematic reimbursement of related costs.

Primary urethral carcinoma (PUC) is defined as a tumor process arising within the urethra, with no history of other urinary tract localization or synchronous tumor of the urinary tract. The most common histological types are urothelial carcinoma (UC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and adenocarcinoma (AC). In men, UC predominates, while AC is rare.

Objective: Updated Recommendations for the management of testicular germ cell cancer.

Materials And Methods: Comprehensive review of the literature on PubMed since 2020 concerning the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of testicular germ cell cancer (TGCT), and the safety of treatments. The level of evidence of the references was evaluated.

Introduction: The objective of this publication is to recall the initial work-up when faced with an adrenal incidentaloma and, if necessary, to establish the oncological management of an adrenal malignant tumor.

Material And Methods: The multidisciplinary working group updated French urological guidelines about oncological assessment of the adrenal incidentaloma, established by the CCAFU in 2020, based on an exhaustive literature review carried out on PubMed.

Results: Although the majority of the adrenal masses are benign and non-functional, it is important to investigate them, as a percentage of these can cause serious endocrine diseases or be cancers.

(1) Background-The five-year overall survival (OS) of muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) with neoadjuvant chemotherapy and cystectomy is around 50%. There is no validated biomarker to guide the treatment decision. We investigated whether the Immunoscore (IS) could predict the pathologic response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy and survival outcomes.

Background: The current pathological tumour-node-metastasis (pTNM) classification for upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) does not include any risk stratification of pT3 renal pelvicalyceal tumours.

Objective: To assess the prognostic impact of pT3 subclassification in a multicentre cohort of patients with UTUC of the renal pelvicalyceal system undergoing radical nephroureterectomy (RNU).

Design, Setting, And Participants: Data from all consecutive patients treated with RNU for pT3 renal pelvicalyceal UTUC at 14 French centres from 1995 to 2013 were reviewed retrospectively.

Objective: To compare the mean apparent diffusion coefficient (ADCmean) and glandular density of Gleason score (GS) 3 + 3 transition zone prostate cancers (TZ-PCa) with those of the peripheral zone (PZ-PCa).

Material & Methods: Seventy-nine men (mean age: 65 ± 6 [SD] years; range: 52-81 years) with 37 TZ-PCa (37/79; 53 %) and 42 PZ-PCa (42/79; 47 %) had prostate MRI before radical prostatectomy. Glandular cell density was semi-quantitatively evaluated in all tumors.

Objectives: To evaluate the ability of high-frequency (29 MHz) transrectal micro-ultrasound (microUS) as a second-look examination after biparametric MRI (bp-MRI) and to reidentify focal lesions seen on diagnostic MRI and to detect new ones METHODS: A total of 118 consecutive men (mean age, 66 ± 13 [SD] years; range, 49-93 years) with a mean prostate-specific antigen level of 11 ± 19 (SD) ng/mL (range, 2-200 ng/mL) and at least one focal lesion (MRI+) with a score > 2 on bp-MRI were included. Of these, 79/118 (66.9%) were biopsy-naïve and 102/118 (86.

Infiltration of the prostatic ducts by prostatic adenocarcinoma occurs relatively frequently, being most commonly associated with high grade disease. It is now recognised that intraductal carcinoma of the prostate (IDCP) has an associated poor prognosis and this is reflected in its histological, molecular and immunohistochemical features. The current recommendation of the World Health Organization is that IDCP not be taken into consideration when grading prostate adenocarcinoma.

The International Collaboration on Cancer Reporting (ICCR) has developed a suite of detailed datasets for international implementation. These datasets are based on the reporting protocols developed by the Royal College of Pathologists (UK), The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and the College of American Pathologists, with modifications undertaken by international expert groups appointed according to ICCR protocols. The dataset for the reporting of renal biopsy for tumour is designed to provide a structured reporting template containing minimum data recording key elements suitable for international use.
