In Tanzania, the One by One: Target COVID-19 campaign was launched nationally in July 2022 to address the prevalent vaccine hesitancy and lack of confidence in COVID-19 vaccines. The campaign mobilized social media influencers and viral content with the ultimate goal of increasing COVID-19 vaccine uptake in the country. The objective of this study was to empirically assess the impact of the campaign on three outcomes: vaccine confidence, vaccine hesitancy, and vaccination status.

Sexual health concerns are one of the most common late effects facing hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) survivors. The current study tested whether self-reported depression and anxiety symptoms before transplant were associated with embedded items assessing two specific areas of sexual health-sexual interest and sexual satisfaction-one year post-HSCT. Of the 158 study participants, 41% were diagnosed with a plasma cell disorder (n = 60) and most received autologous transplantation (n = 128; 81%).

Magnetic nanoparticles based on iron oxides (MNPs-Fe) have been proposed as photothermal agents (PTAs) within antibacterial photothermal therapy (PTT), aiming to counteract the vast health problem of multidrug-resistant bacterial infections. We present a quick and easy green synthesis (GS) to prepare MNPs-Fe harnessing waste. Orange peel extract (organic compounds) was used as a reducing, capping, and stabilizing agent in the GS, which employed microwave (MW) irradiation to reduce the synthesis time.

Article Synopsis
  • Microbial diseases are a major global threat, leading to increased research into antimicrobial nanocomposites, particularly those using graphene oxide (GO) and multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs).
  • The study involved creating magnetic nanocomposites through a three-phase process: synthesizing iron nanoparticles, incorporating a photosensitizer into GO and MWCNTs, and encapsulating them in a biocompatible polymer hydrogel.
  • In vitro tests demonstrated that the VCL/PEGDA-MNPs-MWCNTs-ZnMintPc composite effectively killed multiple types of microorganisms, establishing its potential as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent using photodynamic and photothermal therapies.

Math curriculum-based measurement (CBM) is an essential tool for multi-tiered systems of support decision making, but the reliability of math CBMs has received little research, particularly using more rigorous methods such as generalizability (G) theory. Math CBM is historically organized into two domains: mastery measures and general outcome measures. This paper details 17 concurrent G and dependability studies in a partially crossed design investigating the reliability of mastery measure CBMs for students ( = 263) in Grades K, 1, 3, 5, and 7.

Understanding typical rates of growth under intervention is necessary to establish what environmental expectations one should have and serves as a benchmark when investigating novel interventions. These trends are not well understood in the math domain. The current study addressed this gap by aggregating available data on digits correct per minute (DCPM) growth in single-skill curriculum-based measurements as students undergo intervention.

The first 6 months of marriage are optimal for marriage enrichment interventions. The Hope-Focused Approach to couple enrichment was presented as two 9-hr interventions--(a) Handling Our Problems Effectively (HOPE), which emphasized communication and conflict resolution, and (b) Forgiveness and Reconciliation through Experiencing Empathy (FREE). HOPE and FREE were compared with repeated assessment controls.

Elderspeak is a form of patronizing speech that is sometimes used with older adults and can result in unintended negative consequences. Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) working in long-term care facilities may be particularly prone to using elderspeak because they frequently interact with vulnerable and frail older adults who require assistance with activities of daily living. The purpose of the current study was to assess contextual variables that may prompt the use of elderspeak by CNAs.

Aim: To determine whether interpersonal and informational justice influence the association between daily experiences of incivility and burnout among nurses.

Background: Research has suggested that incivility is a concern for managers. Nurses regularly experience incivility, particularly from their patients and patients' families.

In the current article, the authors explore the efficacy of a 4-hour self-forgiveness intervention. Participants (n = 79) undergoing a routine alcohol treatment protocol were randomly assigned to an intervention or treatment as usual condition. Those in the intervention condition completed the self-forgiveness intervention.

Nonmelanoma skin cancer is the leading cause of cancer in the United States. Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma is second only to basal cell carcinoma in prevalence and its incidence is increasing. The biology of squamous cell carcinoma is reviewed under the broad areas of etiology, immunobiology, biochemistry, metastatic potential, and therapy, with emphasis on prevention, diagnosis, and management.
