Histocompatibility laboratories perform the biological analyses linked related to organ transplant, hematopoietic stem cells transplant, some immune dysfunction diseases and immuno-allergy after therapeutic treatment. Most of these analyses are prospectively or retrospectively performed on sera and DNA. The Société Francophone d'Histocompatibilité et d'Immunogénétique (SFHI) has made some recommendations in order to define storage conditions and storage lifetime of the samples required in a histocompatibility laboratory.

Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) is one of the tests for orientation in the diagnosis of diffuse parenchymal lung disease. Lymphocyte subpopulation study by flow cytometry in the BAL is part of the criteria for the diagnosis of sarcoidosis. We investigated the feasibility of T lymphocyte immunophenotyping in BAL on a new automaton: AQUIOS CL®, a closed access cytometer with fully automated process designed for blood samples.

CDT is at present the most relevant routinely available biological marker of alcohol use and is widely used for screening and monitoring of patients. The lack of standardization leads to specific reference intervals for each procedure. The IFCC working group devoted to CDT demonstrated that the standardization is possible using calibrators assigned to the reference measurement procedure.
