Background: The study of aging and handgrip strength (HGS) is important to gain knowledge regarding health care and quality of life in people living with HIV (PLHIV).
Objective: The aim of the study is to analyze the relationship between HGS and age in the body composition variables of PLHIV.
Methods: The sample consisted of 77 PLHIV, divided into three groups: G40 - PLHIV aged 40-49 years (n=39); G50 - PLHIV aged 50-59 years (n=26); and G60 - PLHIV aged 60-69 years (n=12).
The Brazilian Continental Margin hosts several deep seafloor landscapes. However, this deep margin is still poorly studied and monitored, compared to coastal and continental shelf areas, historically limited to areas of particular economic interest. Some studies financed by the Brazilian oil and gas company have been conducted off Southeast (SE) Brazil (Esprito Santo and Campos Basins) as part of the environmental licensing process for resource exploration.

Objective: To perform a systematic review of the literature focused to evaluate in vitro function of prefabricated fiber posts with and without customization by additional auxillary fiber posts and composite resin on the fracture strength of wide or enlarged canals and the failure pattern.
Methods: Six databases were used as primary search sources (PubMed, Scopus, LILACS, SciELO, Science Direct, and Web of Science) and three databases (Open Grey, Open Thesis, and OATD) were used to partially capture the "grey literature". The research included laboratory studies that used human upper anterior teeth aiming to assess the fracture strength and failure pattern of different glass fiber post customizations by additional auxiliary fiber posts or composite resin.
The genus Leiocapitella was described as having a wide variation on the number of thoracic chaetigers (13-17); however, this variation was added to the diagnosis of the genus based on undescribed species. A shortening in the range of variation of thoracic chaetigers is proposed until a re-examination of these species and a formal description be made. Currently, there are five valid species and a single species has been previously recorded in Brazil.

Materials And Methods: Thirty bovine roots were selected. The wall roots were reduced so that each wall had a minimum dentin thickness of 1 mm.
The high surface-to-volume ratio of polymeric nanofibers makes them an effective vehicle for the release of bioactive molecules and compounds such as growth factors, drugs, herbal extracts and gene sequences. Synthetic polymers are commonly used as sensors, reinforcements and energy storage, whereas natural polymers are more prone to mimicking an extracellular matrix. Natural polymers are a renewable resource and classified as an environmentally friendly material, which might be used in different techniques to produce nanofibers for biomedical applications such as tissue engineering, implantable medical devices, antimicrobial barriers and wound dressings, among others.

It is also a public health issue causing human taeniasis. This study evaluated the occurrence of bovine cysticercosis at the meat inspection procedures in slaughterhouses of south and north regions of the Tocantins State in Brazil.

To date, there are 17 valid species, however, only one species has been previously recorded in Brazil. The aim of this study was to investigate the diversity of the genus occurring along the Northeast and Southeast coasts and sublittoral areas of Brazil.

Brazilian native fruits (BNF) remain unexplored and underutilized resources with a high potential to improve human health and wellness. In our study, five new BNF (Eugenia stipitata, Sageretia elegans, Byrsonima arthropoda, Spondias mombin andRubus rosaefolius)were evaluated for their phenolic composition by LC-ESI-QTOF-MS; and for their ROS and RNS scavenging effects (ROO, O, NO, HOCl); in vivo anti-inflammatory activity (neutrophil migration); and in vivo acute toxicity in Galleria mellonella. Eighty-six phenolic compounds were identified, including hydroxybenzoic acids, hydroxycinnamic acids, flavonoids, anthocyanins and ellagitannins, several of which had never been reported in BNF.

Single-crystal X-ray diffraction helped to elucidate the structures of 1·HO, 7·CHCl, and 8. The unit cell of 8 is composed of four cluster units; the hydrogen bonds between the amino groups of the terminal ligand of a neighboring molecule and the oxygen atoms of CO or acetate bridging ligands hold these cluster units together.

These drugs are used in periodontal pockets and can inhibit or eliminate periodontopathogenic microorganisms as well as modulate the inflammatory response of tissues. However, limited data are available concerning the relationship between effect, efficacy and clinical status of the periodontium.
