- The study evaluated the care efficacy for multiple myeloma patients at a specialized Referral Center (CRMM-HCPA) in Brazil compared to non-Referral Center facilities.
- Results showed that patients at CRMM-HCPA had a significantly shorter time from diagnosis to referral for autologous stem cell transplantation, with a median of 9 months versus 24 months for those at other facilities.
- Additionally, patients treated at CRMM-HCPA reported better quality of life, particularly in social functioning, as measured by the SF-36 questionnaire.
