Method: Multicenter, observational, cross-sectional study carried out with 403 migrants residing in Brazil, Spain, or Portugal. The following instruments were used to collect data: Perceived Stress Scale and Resilience Scale.

Background: In response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, Brazil authorised the Astra Zeneca/Fiocruz vaccine in January 2021. Methods: This study is descriptive, quantitative, and retrospective, conducted through data collection and review of medical records and referrals.

Introduction: The prevalence of cervical dentin hypersensitivity in patients after corrective orthodontic treatment has been poorly studied, although such hypersensitivity is very common. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of dentin hypersensitivity in patients who received corrective orthodontic treatment, the impact of general oral problems on quality of life, and the impact of hypersensitivity on the quality of life of this population.
Methods: This observational, cross-sectional study evaluated 232 patients who finished orthodontic treatment between 2000 and 2020 for self-reported hypersensitivity and clinically diagnosed hypersensitivity.
Purpose: Bezlotoxumab is approved for prevention of recurrent Clostridioides (Clostridium) difficile infection (CDI) in adults receiving antibacterial treatment for CDI who are at high risk for recurrent CDI. Previous studies have shown that although serum albumin levels are an important predictor for bezlotoxumab exposure, this has no clinically meaningful impact on efficacy. This pharmacokinetic modeling study assessed whether hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) recipients, at increased risk of CDI and exhibiting decreased albumin levels within the first month posttransplant, are at risk of clinically relevant reductions in bezlotoxumab exposure.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFDuchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is typically caused by mutations that disrupt the reading frame, but nonsense mutations in the 5' part of the gene induce utilization of an internal ribosomal entry site (IRES) in exon 5, driving expression of a highly functional N-truncated dystrophin. We have developed an AAV9 vector expressing U7 small nuclear RNAs targeting exon 2 and have tested it in a mouse containing a duplication of exon 2, in which skipping of both exon 2 copies induces IRES-driven expression, and skipping of one copy leads to wild-type dystrophin expression. One-time intravascular injection either at postnatal days 0-1 or at 2 months results in efficient exon skipping and dystrophin expression, and significant protection from functional and pathologic deficits.
