Strokes remain a major global health concern, contributing significantly to disability and healthcare costs. Currently, there are no established indicators to accurately assess the degree of muscle tissue impairment in stroke-affected individuals. However, ultrasound imaging with an echotexture analysis shows potential as a quantitative tool to assess muscle tissue quality.

Introduction: Post-acute COVID-19 patients who were discharged from hospitals during the epidemic faced significant challenges, not only physical sequelae, but also psychological distress, anxiety, and depression. It is already known that continued exercise improves psychosocial components, but few studies have explored the impact of multimodal rehabilitation programs, including therapeutic education, in this type of patient. There are no studies that explore the application of these programs through asynchronous telerehabilitation, which would open up new therapeutic windows.

Preventive treatments, including pharmacological and educational interventions, are crucial for managing CM effectively. The aim of this study was to analyze whether adding a therapeutic telehealth education program (TTEP) to pharmacological treatment achieved a greater reduction in the number of headache days experienced by patients with CM.

In previous preclinical studies, we found that local pulmonary administration of MTBVAC via the intranasal route had a strong therapeutic effect against asthma. This effect correlated with the abrogation of allergen-specific Th2 response in the lungs.

Materials And Methods: The patients had confirmed mild COVID-19 infection with olfactory dysfunction of more than one month of evolution and they were compared to controls with normal olfaction, assessed using the Sniffin' Sticks Olfactory Test and underwent brain, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the olfactory bulb and olfactory function.
Results: A total of 8 patients and 2 controls participated.
Objective: Childhood flatfoot and overweight can affect children's quality of life and influence their development, increasing the risk of musculoskeletal problems in adulthood. There is evidence linking overweight to the development of childhood flatfoot. The aim of the study was to assess the relationship between the weight status of school children and their foot posture and to determine whether there are differences between both sexes.

Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the experiences and perceptions of patients with PD in a Parkinson's Association.
Objective: To compare the preliminary efficacy of asynchronous telerehabilitation in patients after acute coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on fatigue, physical condition, quality of life, and feasibility of this pilot study with that of a booklet format.
Design: Randomized pilot study with 2 intervention arms: asynchronous telerehabilitation group and booklet-based rehabilitation group, with 2 follow-ups at 3 and 6 months.
Setting: Hospital.
Despite the high potential of seagrass restoration to reverse the trend of marine ecosystem degradation, there are still many limitations, especially when ecosystems are severely degraded. In particular, it is not known whether restoring polluted ecosystems can lead to potentially harmful effects associated with contaminant remobilisation. Here, we aimed to investigate the role of P.

The Vitro HPV Screening assay is a fully automatic multiplex real-time PCR test targeting the L1 GP5+/GP6+ region of HPV genome. The assay detects 14 high risk (HR) HPV genotypes, identifying individual HPV16 and HPV18 genotypes, and the HPV-positive samples for the other 12 HR HPV types are subsequently genotyped with the HPV Direct Flow Chip test.

The aim of this study was to evaluate an individualized physical therapy intervention for people experiencing homelessness and to determine the relationship between self-perceived variables.
Methods: Pre and post study, setting at the "Santa y Real Hermandad de Nuestra Señora del Refugio y Piedad" homeless shelter in Zaragoza, Spain.
Background: Consumer and research activity monitors have become popular because of their ability to quantify energy expenditure (EE) in free-living conditions. However, the accuracy of activity trackers in determining EE in people with Huntington's Disease (HD) is unknown.
Research Question: Can the ActiGraph wGT3X-B or the Fitbit Charge 4 accurately measure energy expenditure during physical activity, in people with HD compared to Indirect Calorimetry (IC) (Medisoft Ergo Card)?
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional, observational study with fourteen participants with mild-moderate HD (mean age 55.
Common genetic variants in glucokinase regulator (GCKR), which encodes GKRP, a regulator of hepatic glucokinase (GCK), influence multiple metabolic traits in genome-wide association studies (GWASs), making GCKR one of the most pleiotropic GWAS loci in the genome. It is unclear why. Prior work has demonstrated that GCKR influences the hepatic cytosolic NADH/NAD ratio, also referred to as reductive stress.

The diagnosis and treatment are challenging processes due to the unknown underlying causes of the condition. Recently, sensors have been included in clinical practice to implement its management.

The aim of this study was to analyse whether different physical therapy interventions could lead to improvements in sleep quality and pain intensity in individuals with chronic pain, as well as if there is any association. A systematic review and a univariate and multivariate meta-analysis were carried out according to the PRISMA guidelines.

Background: The evaluation of motor impairment in Parkinson's disease (PD) is mainly assessed with the motor subdomain of the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating scale (UPDRS part III) and, lately, with the MDS-UPDRS part III. To optimize efforts and special needs during specific circumstances in clinical practice, we sought to identify the most sensitive items to assess motor impairment in PD.
Methods: We included the COPPADIS-PD cohort and collected the UPDRS part III at baseline (V0), 12 months (V1), and 24 months (V2).
Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) is a maternally inherited, high-copy-number genome required for oxidative phosphorylation. Heteroplasmy refers to the presence of a mixture of mtDNA alleles in an individual and has been associated with disease and ageing. Mechanisms underlying common variation in human heteroplasmy, and the influence of the nuclear genome on this variation, remain insufficiently explored.

Here, we analysed Posidonia oceanica from six sites within and around the Stagnone di Marsala, a semi-enclosed coastal lagoon where salinity and temperature exceed the generally described tolerance thresholds of the species. Sea surface temperatures (SSTs) were measured and plant samples were collected for the assessment of morphology, flowering rate and for screening genome-wide polymorphisms using double digest restriction-site-associated DNA sequencing.

Here, we utilize RNA sequencing and metabolomics to identify candidate molecular effectors activated by these genetic drivers. We find glutathione biosynthesis, amino acid metabolism, mitochondrial unfolded protein response, and lipid peroxide scavenging to be increased in HCC.

In conjunction with 30 proteins in the small subunit, the mitoribosome synthesizes the 13 subunits of the mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) system encoded by mitochondrial Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). We used multi-omics and gene matching to identify three unrelated individuals with biallelic variants in MRPL39 presenting with multisystem diseases with severity ranging from lethal, infantile-onset (Leigh syndrome spectrum) to milder with survival into adulthood.
