This study examined predictors of missed opportunities for first-dose HPV vaccine administrations in Iowa in order to conduct more targeted outreach and improve adolescent HPV vaccine uptake.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted to identify predictors of missed opportunities for first-dose HPV vaccination in Iowa adolescents using Iowa's Immunization Registry Information System.
Data cleansing practices aimed to improve data quality in immunization information systems (IIS) continue to be identified and evaluated by immunization programs to generate accurate and reliable immunization coverage rates. The Iowa Immunization Program has implemented several automated, daily data cleansing practices to improve the quality of records in Iowa's Immunization Registry Information System (IRIS), including the process of sealing records of deceased individuals through vital records matching. This process removes deceased individual records from the active IIS population, which helps reduce denominator inflation and improve the accuracy of immunization rate calculations.

An increase in long term coastal erosion (coastline recession) along sandy coasts can translate into massive socio-economic impacts, unless appropriate adaptation measures are implemented in the next few decades. To adequately inform adaptation measures, it is necessary to have a good understanding of the relative importance of the physical processes driving coastline recession, as well as of linkages between consideration (or not) of certain processes and the level of risk tolerance; understandings that are hitherto lacking.

Compared to conventional ELISA, fluorescence, and Mass Spec-based detection approaches, Wes provides comparable datasets with additional information regarding size, aggregation, and potential degradation of samples before and after BBB transcytosis.

To properly inform effective adaptation strategies for the coastal areas in the vicinity of these inlets, it is necessary to know the temporal evolution of inlet stability over climate change time scales (50-100 years). As available numerical models are unable to perform continuous morphodynamic simulations at such time scales, here we develop and pilot a fast, probabilistic, reduced complexity model (RAPSTA - RAPid assessment tool of inlet STAbility) that can also quantify forcing uncertainties.

This review aims to explore the barriers and facilitators that affect the implementation of community-based PA interventions and make recommendations to improve implementation from the included studies.
Methods: A systematic literature search of EBSCOhost, Scopus, PUBMED and Web of Science was conducted to identify articles that reported qualitative data on the implementation factors of community-based interventions where PA was a primary outcome.

To provide further chemical rationale for probe design, a series of donor-acceptor diphenylacetylene fluorophores with varying lipophilicities and structures were synthesised and analysed in human epidermal cells using a range of cellular imaging techniques. These experiments showed that, within this family, the greatest determinants of cellular localisation were overall lipophilicity and the presence of ionisable groups.

Seagrass meadows store globally significant organic carbon (C ) stocks which, if disturbed, can lead to CO emissions, contributing to climate change. Eutrophication and thermal stress continue to be a major cause of seagrass decline worldwide, but the associated CO emissions remain poorly understood. This study presents comprehensive estimates of seagrass soil C erosion following eutrophication-driven seagrass loss in Cockburn Sound (23 km between 1960s and 1990s) and identifies the main drivers.

To fully assess the effects of 106 missense and nonsense variants of PTEN associated with autism spectrum disorder, somatic cancer and PTEN hamartoma syndrome (PHTS), we take a deep phenotypic profiling approach using 18 assays in 5 model systems spanning diverse cellular environments ranging from molecular function to neuronal morphogenesis and behavior. Variants inducing instability occur across the protein, resulting in partial-to-complete loss-of-function (LoF), which is well correlated across models.
