This randomized, cross-sectional study assessed students' knowledge and confidence in caring for patients with diverse religious backgrounds. Students were assigned to either a series of religious cases created in MyDispense or a control group to read a pamphlet on religious considerations in patient care.

However, its effectiveness in improving patient survival remains limited due to the radioresistant nature of GBM. Metal-based nanostructures have emerged as promising strategies to enhance RT efficacy.

As the aggregates phase of bio-concretes is composed of plant-based particles, known as porous and high water-absorbing materials, the bio-concretes cannot be designed by using the traditional design rules used for conventional mortar or concrete. Then, the method used in the current paper is an adaptation of a previous one that has been developed in a recent paper where bio-concretes were produced with a cement matrix, three types of bio-aggregates, and a proposal of a design abacus.

Educational Activity And Setting: Third-year student pharmacists (n = 386) from three institutions participated in the virtual self-care simulation during their respective practice laboratory course. A pre- and post-assessment collected 10 knowledge and five confidence questions, self-reported on 0-100 scale, mapped to learning outcomes and pharmacy standards.
Virtual reality (VR) has not been used in pharmacy education when teaching sterile compounding. The objective of this study was to describe the development of a VR 360 video for second-year student pharmacists. The secondary objective was to assess the VR experience, specifically on participants' knowledge and performance in sterile compounding, as well as the VR video demands and efforts.

Gymnopilins are long chain oligoisoprenoids produced through the condensation of isoprene units from MEV and MEP biosynthetic pathways. In Gymnopilus, these carotenoid-like molecules are recognized as major compounds in some species. In the present study, oligoisoprenoids derived from gymnopilins were dereplicated from Gymnopilus imperialis, a mushroom-forming basidiomycete, using liquid chromatographic coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (tandem LC-HRMS/MS) and GNPS.

Educational Activity And Setting: Pharmacy students (n = 88) participated in a crossover designed laboratory session where they either attended a live, active-learning laboratory session on self-care review topics, followed by a virtual, asynchronous self-care simulation or vice versa. Sessions were held one week apart.
Purpose: This reflection utilizing Gibb's model offers insight into the lived experience of a Vietnamese child refugee who, many years later, found herself working as a pharmacist with Afghan refugees.
Description: Through this piece, the author describes her childhood experience with the United States (US) healthcare system as a refugee, her experience as a pharmacist caring for refugees, and explores her thoughts and feelings about the experience.
Analysis/interpretation: The author evaluates the positive and negative aspects of the situation and analyzes the experience to make sense of the situation.
Despite being extensively studied because of the current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) interactions with mammalian cells are still poorly understood. Furthermore, little is known about this coronavirus cycle within the host cells, particularly the steps that lead to viral egress. This study aimed to shed light on the morphological features of SARS-CoV-2 egress by utilizing transmission and high-resolution scanning electron microscopy, along with serial electron tomography, to describe the route of nascent virions towards the extracellular medium.

The structural and optical characteristics of the samples were also analyzed using techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), optical absorption (OA), and fluorescence spectroscopy (FL). An XRD analysis confirmed the amorphous phase of the BioGlass.

Introduction: This study aimed to evaluate if there were differences between anterior and posterior anatomic boundaries used for the 3-dimensional determination of pharyngeal airway.
Methods: The sample included 150 cone-beam computed tomography scans from healthy patients divided according to (1) age: 6-11, 12-16, and ≥16 years; (2) sex: female and male; (3) anteroposterior skeletal pattern: Class I, II, and III; (4) vertical pattern: brachyfacial, mesofacial, and dolichofacial; and (5) craniocervical inclination (CCI): natural head posture, head flexion, and head extension. Anatomic regions were created to determine the correspondences between structures anteriorly and posteriorly to the pharyngeal airway.
Drug utilization review (DUR) skills are important for pharmacists across all settings. Computer-based DUR simulations to teach student pharmacists are currently scarce. This article describes a computer-based DUR simulation that required limited faculty and financial resources and was implemented in collaboration among 3 institutions.

The crystalline structure, morphology, thermal and optical properties of the phosphors were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), photoluminescence (PL) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Moreover, using thermoluminescence (TL) and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) techniques, the dosimetric properties of the phosphors, such as emission spectra, glow curve reproducibility, dose-response linearity, fading of the luminescent signal, variation of the TL intensity with the heating rate, OSL decay curves, correlation between TL and OSL emissions and minimum detectable dose (MDD) were comprehensively investigated.

Our results show that samarium oxide grows in a hexagonal A-SmO phase on Ru(0001), exhibiting a (0001) oriented-top facet and (113) side facets. Upon annealing, a structural transition from the hexagonal to cubic phase occurs, in which the Sm cations exhibit the +3 oxidation state.
