Background: Chronic post-surgical pain is a condition persisting for not less than 3 months after surgical intervention. It is evaluated that 25-60% of women who underwent breast cancer excision suffer from post-mastectomy pain syndrome, and anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance, and catastrophizing. Physical activity can reduce the risk of chronic diseases and has a good impact on mood and cognitive function.

Among the reasons why patients seek breast implant removal, the autoimmune/inflammatory syndrome induced by adjuvants (ASIA), also named breast implant illness, is increasingly common. ASIA is an entity that incorporates diverse autoimmune conditions induced by the exposure to various adjuvants, including silicone, and it is characterized by systemic symptoms reminiscent of autoimmune disorders.

Chronic post-mastectomy pain is a condition persisting for at least three months after surgery. It has been shown that physical activity in the cancer patient allows the improvement of the pain symptom.

Genetically diabetic mice have an altered expression pattern of VEGF and its receptor, VEGF receptor 2 (VEGFR-2). In diabetic wounds, the microRNAs, miR15b and miR200b, which respectively inhibit VEGF and VEGF-R2 mRNAs, are up-regulated, further affecting the impaired angiogenesis.

We investigated whether hemodiafiltration (HDF) could influence the ability of polymorphonuclear granulocytes (PMGs) to release NGAL. The involvement of interleukin- (IL-)1β and tumor necrosis factor- (TNF-)α on NGAL release was evaluated.

However, the role played by cytokines during infection with different species of Leishmania is not univocal. In this work, the production of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFalpha) and interleukin 18 (IL-18) during interaction of human phagocytes with Leishmania major or L.

All of these antibodies reacted with purified type-specific carbohydrate by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and immunoprecipitation tests. The epitope recognized by all of these antibodies was associated with terminal sialic acid residues, as indicated by abrogation of immune reactions by treatment of the type-specific carbohydrate with neuraminidase.
