BACKGROUND Cartilage injuries are challenging to treat due to limited self-healing. Standard treatments often lead to the formation of less durable fibrocartilage. Caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE), a polyphenolic compound, can improve cartilage repair.

Orthopaedic surgeons now have the added responsibility of evaluating and guiding patients to credible online resources. This study aimed to assess ChatGPT's ability to identify deficiencies in patient information texts related to total hip arthroplasty websites and to evaluate its potential for enhancing the quality of these texts.

The aim of our study was to use spectral optical coherence tomography (OCT) to assess the possible effects of neuronal degeneration on the intraretinal layers and macular structures of people with epilepsy and epilepsy subgroups.
Methods: We enrolled 52 consecutive people with epilepsy (37 females, 15 males; mean age 29.
Neuraminic acid synthases are an important yet underexplored group of enzymes. Thus, in this research, we performed a detailed kinetic and stability analysis and a comparison of previously known neuraminic acid synthase from Neisseria meningitidis, and a novel enzyme, PNH, obtained from a metagenomic library. A systematic analysis revealed a high level of similarity of PNH to other known neuraminic acid synthases, except for its pH optimum, which was found to be at 5.

Introduction: Cyclosporine-A (CsA) and post transplantation cyclophosphamide (PTCy) are common agents used for graft versus host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis in Haploidentical hematopoietic cell transplantation (haplo-HCT). However, the impact of CsA cessation timing in the posttransplant setting on clinical outcomes is uncertain. We aimed to investigate the impact of a novel approach that integrated early CsA cessation with PTCy utilization.

We used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate neural responses to mildly aversive nonsocial and social sensory stimuli as well as how sensory over-responsivity (SOR) severity relates to these responses. Participants included 21 ASD and 25 typically-developing (TD) youth, aged 8.

This study aimed to assess the utilization, indications, outcomes, and safety of FB in pediatric patients for noncoronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) reasons during the pandemic.
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed pediatric patients who underwent FB for non-COVID-19 indications at a tertiary children's hospital's pulmonary clinic during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Background: Proximal femur resection and prosthetic reconstruction are preferred in patients with extensive bone destruction, pathological fractures, tumours resistant to radiation therapy, and patients with more proximal metastatic lesions. There is increasing evidence that the CRP/albumin ratio (CAR) is an independent marker of inflammation in various primary organ cancers and maybe a more accurate prognostic factor. We aimed to evaluate whether preoperative and postoperative CAR values could be a factor in predicting mortality in these patients.

However, despite its known role in sensorimotor function, there is limited research on its association with sensory over-responsivity (SOR), a common and impairing feature of ASD. Thus, this study sought to examine functional connectivity of the sensorimotor cerebellum in ASD compared to typically developing (TD) youth and investigate whether cerebellar connectivity is associated with SOR.

While effective, external fixation (EF) can lead to sexual dysfunction (SD), especially in young patients. This study aimed to assess SD in women undergoing EF versus internal fixation for tibial fractures.

This study aimed to present the outcomes of acute, unstable, pathological proximal femur fractures secondary to UBCs in children. MATERIAL AND METHODS We retrospectively reviewed data on 12 patients with a mean age of 9.

However, the neural mechanisms underlying interindividual differences in these trajectories are currently unknown.
Methods: Here, we used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate the association between age and neural activity linearly and nonlinearly in response to mildly aversive sensory stimulation as well as how SOR severity moderates this association.

The usage of electric scooters has been popular because it is a cheap and fast transportation method. Its use has increased in recent years because public transportation is less preferred during the covid-19 pandemic and in parallel, the publications reporting e-scooter accidents are increasing. There is no article examining the relationship between e-scooter and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in current literature.

Patients' treatment responses, overall response rate, progression-free survival rate, and adverse events were recorded. Mean age of 54 patients was 66.

We assumed that the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio predicted 1-year mortality in these patients. The inclusion criteria were as follows: to be diagnosed with diabetic foot, being >18 years of age, having a confirmed type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus diagnosis, stage 3 to 5 Wagner ulcers, and having at least 1 year of follow-up.

As the dura mater provides a barrier to intraaxial tumors, GBM seldom penetrates into the skull base, even though it is a high-grade astrocytoma with a tendency to spread. Yet, some mechanisms of GBM-induced skull invasion have been identified, making this entity a very rare but nonetheless relevant differential diagnosis in otherwise ambiguous cases of an intracerebral tumor extending into the skull base.

In parallel, this study was designed to investigate the effects of pre-conditioning immunoglobulin (pre-conditioning-Ig) and pre-conditioning absolute lymphocyte count (pre-conditioning-ALC) levels on transplant outcomes.
Methods: This study was designed as a retrospective, observational and cross-sectional study.
Objective: Heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) is the most common cause of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in premenopausal women. Clinical studies have shown that iron carboxymaltose (ICM) is an appropriate, effective, and well-tolerated treatment option for clinical situations associated with iron deficiency (ID).
Patients And Methods: This study took 78 out of 400 consecutive patients diagnosed with IDA due to HMB and intolerant or insufficient response of oral iron.
The prognostic importance of the ABO blood group in non-Hodgkin lymphoma is largely unknown. We aim to investigate the prognostic significance of blood groups on the survival in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients. 412 people (206 DLBCL patients and 206 healthy donors) were included.
