Objective: To compare the efficacy, safety and patients' quality of life of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and surgery in the treatment of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC).
Methods: MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane, CNKI and other databases were searched for studies on radiofrequency ablation versus traditional surgery for PTMC up to October 2022. RevMan5.

Background: Diabetes mellitus, as one of the world's fastest-growing diseases, is a chronic metabolic disease that has now become a public health problem worldwide. The purpose of this research was to develop a predictive nomogram model to demonstrate the risk of major amputation in patients with diabetic foot.
Methods: A total of 634 Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients with diabetic foot ulcer hospitalized at the Air Force Medical Center between January 2018 and December 2023 were included in our retrospective study.
We present the case of a 54-year-old woman with reasonable blood sugar control who presented with a diabetic foot combined with severe peripheral neuropathy and vascular disease. Lower limb muscle weakness, muscle atrophy, skin pigmentation, and emaciation were also observed. Although her muscle strength improved after glucocorticoid treatment, it remained challenging to account for the other symptoms in this particular patient with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy.

Research Design And Methods: The data for this study came from a multicenter, cross-sectional study that had been designed to estimate the prevalence of sarcopenia among adults with type 2 diabetes and had been conducted in several hospitals in Beijing, China. A total of 1125 participants were randomly divided into two groups: an exploratory population and a validation population.

Background: The fat-soluble molecule vitamin D has attracted much attention since its pleiotropism was discovered. Its effectiveness can be attributed to the presence of vitamin D receptors in most of the body's tissues. Based on the classical role of vitamin D in regulating calcium and phosphorus metabolism and maintaining bone health, the role of vitamin D in immunity, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), tumor and cardiovascular diseases has been further discovered.

Aims: Cardiac microvascular dysfunction is a common feature across cardiovascular complications in diabetes, while effective therapy remains elusive. This study was designed to evaluate the effect of irisin on cardiac microvascular injury in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
Methods: T2DM was induced in C57BL/6J mice.
Objective: The present study explored the effectiveness of using a non-invasive skin-stretching device (NSSD) combined with negative-pressure wound therapy (NPWT) for the postoperative wound repair of diabetic foot (DF) gangrene.
Methods: The treatment group in this study involved 42 patients with Wagner grade 3-4 and undergone concomitant toe amputation or debridement, who were given NPWT combined with the use of a NSSD. The control group comprised 42 patients with similar trauma areas (±20%) that were matched at a ratio of 1:1.

This study aims to establish a diagnostic model of coronary heart disease (CHD) for diabetic foot (DF) patients. The clinical data of 489 hospitalized patients with DF were retrospectively analyzed in this case-control study. The patients were divided into the CHD group (DF with CHD, n = 212) and the control group (DF without CHD, n = 277).

Background: Many studies have showed that diabetes mellitus (DM) might be a risk factor for certain types of cancers. However, there are still inconsistent results on the effects of DM on the risk of esophageal cancer (EC). The objective of this study is to investigate the association and to quantify the correlation between DM and EC by a meta-analysis.
