A study was conducted to assess the prevalence and risk factors for common lower reproductive tract infections (RTIs) among women aged 25 - 54 in Beijing, focusing on bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, and vulvovaginal candidiasis.
Out of 6,339 women, the overall RTI prevalence was found to be 11.4%, with bacterial vaginosis being the most common at 8.7%, and factors significantly linked to infections included age, profession, income, number of sex partners, and condom use.
The findings indicated that the prevalence of these infections in Beijing was lower compared to other regions in China, with specific demographics at higher risk, particularly women aged 30
