Malnutrition in patients with obesity presents a complex and often overlooked clinical challenge. Although obesity is traditionally associated with overnutrition and excessive caloric intake, it can also coincide with varying degrees of malnutrition. The etiopathogenesis of obesity is multifaceted and may arise from several factors such as poor diet quality, nutrient deficiencies despite excess calorie consumption, genetics, and metabolic abnormalities affecting nutrient absorption and utilization.

Increased family history documentation in internal medicine resident continuity clinic at a community hospital through resident-led structured genetic education program.

We aim to assess residents' perspectives and clinical utility of obtaining family history (FH) as well as to improve the rate of FH documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) at an internal medicine resident continuity clinic at a community hospital. The residents' perspectives were assessed with questionnaires. The study period was divided into the first 10-week Phase 1 in which genetic education interventions were delivered by residents, and the second 10-week Phase 2 with minimal intervention.

Serum Albumin Modifies the Effect of Peripheral Blood Monocytes on Severity of Diabetic Nephropathy in an Adult Population.

Background: Our aim in this study was to characterize clinical associations between peripheral blood immune populations and diabetic kidney disease (DKD) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Methods: We queried hospital records from an outpatient diabetes primary care clinic between 2018 and 2019 for clinical and laboratory data, including complete blood counts with differentials, serum albumin and globulin, glycated hemoglobin (A1C) and urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio. One hundred ninety-eight patients had complete cross-sectional data with temporally proximate complete blood counts and urine albumin-to-creatinine ratios.

Background: The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has targeted hospital readmissions, which cost $17 billion per year, as one potential solution to reduce rising health care costs. Studies have documented the ability of Transitions of care (TOC) services to reduce readmissions in high risk patients. However, the vast majority of studies have not explored TOC services for all-cause admissions nor TOC clinics led by hospitalists.

Therefore, herein we have conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of published clinical trials on combination ICI to synthesize the treatment-related adverse event (TRAE) profile of combination ICI therapy. PUBMED, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Database/EBM were searched for eligible studies.

Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) is a life-threating mucocutaneous reaction predominantly induced by drugs. Targeted cancer therapies such as pembrolizumab, which has been approved for the treatment of metastatic malignancy, can cause severe skin toxicities, including SJS. They are rare and inconsistently reported.
