Background: Onasemnogene abeparvovec gene replacement therapy (GT) has changed the prognosis of patients with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) with variable outcome regarding motor development in symptomatic patients. This pilot study evaluates acceptability, validity and clinical relevance of Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) to monitor spontaneous movement recovery in early onset SMA patients after GT.
Methods: Clinical assessments including CHOPINTEND score (the gold standard motor score for infants with SMA) and IMU measurements were performed before (M0) and repeatedly after GT.
Childhood maltreatment is a key precursor to vulnerable narcissism since it likely lead to a narcissistic injury that triggers defenses against rage and abandonment. In later life, this pattern may contribute to a maladaptive model of love relationships. The present study explored the association between different types of childhood maltreatment (i.

Although polysaccharides are considered essential for matrix architecture, their possible functional roles are still rather unexplored. The primary structure of polysaccharides produced by Klebsiella pneumoniae and species of the Burkholderia cepacia Complex revealed a composition rich in rhamnose.

Studies have identified depressive symptoms, affect dysregulation, and poor marital adjustment as potential risk factors for poor prenatal attachment. However, no research has concurrently examined these factors.

This explains the surge of interest in this field, and the need to identify highly selective sensing systems. Addressing this issue, in this work we synthesized two D-glucamine functionalized fluorophores bearing self-assembling cores, as 1,8-naphthalimide and naphthalene diimide.

Method: Participants were 401 primiparous women with an average age of 34 years (SD = 4.
Gait abnormalities are frequent in children and can be caused by different pathologies, such as cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disease, toe walker syndrome, etc. Analysis of the "gait pattern" (i.e.

Therapist expertise is a complex, multifaceted, and continually evolving concept. Defining this construct and its constituent components can yield a substantial contribution to the field of psychotherapy, consequently enhancing the comprehension of the fundamental factors that underlie its effectiveness. Within this framework, the present research aimed at developing and assessing the psychometric properties of the Psychotherapy Expertise Questionnaire (PEQ), a self-report measure to assess therapist expertise.

However, for some subjects, the use of these platforms may become problematic and generate functioning impairments in many life areas. Given this, the present research aimed at investigating the factor that may contribute to Social Media Addiction, by focusing on Fear of Missing Out and Family Functioning Patterns.

Matrices offer several advantages, including defence against external threats and the easiness of intercellular communication. In infections, biofilm formation enhances bacteria resistance against antimicrobials, causing serious clinical problems for patients' treatments.

Little is known about the incidence of care-related pain in pediatric rehabilitation centers and health facilities for children.
Aim: To determine the incidence and intensity of care-related pain in children with physical disabilities, identify risk factors for pain and practices used to prevent care-related pain in pediatric rehabilitation centers and health facilities for children in France.
The "Be an Airplane Pilot" (BE API) protocol was developed to evaluate upper limb (UL) kinematics in children with unilateral cerebral palsy (uCP) during bimanual tasks. The aim of this study was to investigate the responsiveness of this protocol to changes in kinematics and movement quality after UL therapies, using individual and group analyses, and to analyse the relationships between kinematic and functional changes in these children. Twenty children with uCP (5-15 years old) either participated in bimanual intensive therapy or received UL botulinum toxin injections.

This study aimed to explore the relationships among the variables involved in a Comprehensive Model of Addiction (CMA), which posits that the presence and severity of addictive behaviors are related to the configuration of seven psychological variables, namely childhood trauma, insecure attachment, affect dysregulation, dissociation, impulsivity, compulsiveness, and obsessiveness. A vulnerability model was proposed, in which it was suggested that affect dysregulation and complex trauma mediated the association between insecure attachment and dissociation. Furthermore, a maintenance model was elaborated, in which it was hypothesized that dissociation influenced affect dysregulation via impulsivity, compulsiveness, and obsessiveness.

Instrumented measures have been developed to evaluate and help to understand impaired upper limb movement during bimanual tasks in these children. The aim of this review was to report instrumented measurement tools (3D motion analysis, sensors, etc.

CTP-11 is enzymatically converted to the hydrophobic 7-ethyl-10-hydroxycamptothecin (SN38), a one hundred-fold more active metabolite. Conjugation of hydrophobic anticancer drugs to nanomaterials is a strategy to improve their solubility, efficacy, and selectivity.

Parenting children with developmental disabilities (DD) can be generally characterized by a considerable psychological burden. The effects on parental and familial psychological well-being and, consequently, on children's developmental outcomes should not be underestimated, especially in early childhood. The current review aims to advance our understanding of the key factors (e.

The rapid expansion of e-commerce has made the buying experience faster, potentially anonymous, and without limits of space and time. While this may produce benefits, for some individuals, online shopping can become an addiction. Therefore, the present study aimed to explore the psychological factors that may be associated with Compulsive Online Shopping, with a specific focus on the role of Attachment Styles and Family Functioning patterns as risk or protective factors.

The aim was to identify specific motor patterns from kinematic deviations during bimanual tasks in this population.
Methods: Twenty children with unilateral cerebral palsy and 20 age-matched, typically developing children performed the five tasks of a 3D bimanual protocol.
Background: Scoliosis develops in a proportion of children with myelomeningocele; however, little is known about scoliosis in adulthood and in other forms of spina bifida (SB).
Objectives: The aims of this study were to describe the prevalence of scoliosis and identify risk factors for its development in a large cohort of adults with open and closed SB.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of data from 580 adults with SB attending their first consultation at a French multidisciplinary referral centre for SB.
Background: The clinical relevance of the degree of severity in addiction disorders supports the need to investigate the variables underlying this aspect of the phenomenon.
Objective: This study aimed to explore the relationships between factors that may influence the severity of addiction disorder, with a particular focus on temperamental disinhibition, emotion dysregulation, interpersonal vulnerability, and their interactions.
Methods: A clinical sample of 502 (77% males and 22% females) was involved.
Introduction: An increasing number of patients is annually undergoing total hip arthroplasty (THA), and a significant proportion of these patients are elderly and consequently at a higher risk of complications because of age, osteoporosis, and medical comorbidities. Periprosthetic femoral fractures (PFFs) are one of the worst complications of THA associated with high rates of unfavorable prognosis. Besides, in the last decade, a new independent disease entity called "atypical femoral fracture" (AFF) has been identified and defined by the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) task force.
