Ultrasound is the most used interdisciplinary imaging technique in clinical routine for assessment of renal pathologies. This includes the monitoring of cystic renal lesions, which can be classified as non-complicated or complicated and by means of occurrence as solitary or multifocal lesions. The Bosniak-classification (I-IV) classifies renal cysts in 5 different categories and is used for decisions of further clinical treatment.

The purpose of this review is to present the current value of ceVUS in the diagnosis.
Method: A systematic literature search was performed using the keywords "vesicoureteral reflux", "ceVUS", "VCUG" of the databases MEDLINE and Cochrane Library as well as a review of current German, European, and American guidelines on this topic.
Tetraphenylethylenes (TPEs) are well-known for their aggregation-induced emission properties. The synthesis of TPE derivatives, as well as other highly substituted olefins, generally requires the use of hazardous reagents, such as metalorganic compounds, to overcome the high activation energies caused by the sterically congested double bond. Herein, we present an efficient and metal-free procedure for the synthesis of tetraarylethylenes via alkylidene-homocoupling of N-tosylhydrazones, derived from readily available benzophenones, in excellent yields.

Purpose: Kidney fibrosis leads to a progressive reduction in kidney function ultimately resulting in kidney failure. Diagnostic tools to detect kidney fibrosis are all invasive in nature requiring kidney biopsies with subsequent histological validation. In this retrospective study, the diagnostic value of three different radiotracers for the noninvasive prediction of kidney fibrosis was analyzed, taking into account the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and the intra-renal parenchymal radiotracer uptake.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIsothiocyanates (ITCs) are typically prepared using amines and highly toxic reagents such as thiophosgene, its derivatives, or CS. In this work, an investigation of a multicomponent reaction (MCR) using isocyanides, elemental sulfur and amines revealed that isocyanides can be converted to isothiocyanates using sulfur and catalytic amounts of amine bases, especially DBU (down to 2 mol%). This new catalytic reaction was optimized in terms of sustainability, especially considering benign solvents such as Cyrene™ or γ-butyrolactone (GBL) under moderate heating (40 °C).

Autonomous mobile manipulators can be used to execute various tasks: from logistics, to pick and place, or handling. Therefore, autonomous robotic systems can even increase the flexibility of existing production environments.

In this paper we describe 2 patients with herpes simplex hepatitis. Submassive liver necrosis occurred in both patients, one of whom survived. Notable in the clinical course of both patients was the almost simultaneous occurrence of three events-fever, marked elevation of serum transaminases, and leukopenia.

These cells referred to as Kultschitzky cells (K cells) were found to be argyrophilic, but not argentaffin, and are considered analogous to the same type of cells in lung and gastro-intestinal tract. Fluorescence histochemistry demonstrated the presence of intracellular amine within tracheal K cells, but only after in-vitro or in-vivo administration of amine precursor (L-DOPA).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTwo cases of chronic myeloid leukemia in which the cytogenetic clone was 45, XO, Ph(1) are described and compared with 20 cases recorded in the literature. The 45, XO line is peculiar to the leukemic cells and is not a manifestation of constitutional mosaicism. It probably arises from a 46, XY, Ph(1) line by loss of the Y chromosome.
